BassmanfromNC Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I have used the floroclear, but seems to have some memory to it. Has any one used both? and which one was smoother? I'm looking for something different for my wormin rod. Thanks Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Both have different applications so its kind of like comparing apples to oranges. P Line fluorocarbon is 100% fluoro whereas fluoroclear is only fluorocarbon coated. I have used both and I prefer the fluorocarbon for everything but flipping (braid) and topwater (mono or copolymer). Quote
BassmanfromNC Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 Any suggestion for other fluros I could try/ Quote
BassmanfromNC Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 Berkley Vanish.Tried Vanish and had alot of breakage, maybe I need a different knot, I use palomor. 8-) Quote
shortbasser Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I have used plenty of different brands of Fluorocarbon including P-line. Started using Spiderwire Ultracast 100% fluorocarbon last year and it is the best of them all that I have used. Gamma Fluoro wasn't too bad. Spiderwire is smaller in diameter and less memory than any I have used. I use a Palomar knot all the time and have no issues with line breakage or knot slippage. Shortbasser Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted March 17, 2009 Super User Posted March 17, 2009 The 100% fluoro seems to have less memory than the fluoroclear, but it's a bit less abrasion resistant. It's still darn good line though. Vanish is good for nothing, it breaks with little pressure, tied with ANY knot. Quote

Goggle Eyes Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I have had good results with Seaguar Carbon Pro. Its stretchy, but that doesnt bother me at all, in fact I prefer some cushion vs. the directness of braid (Power Pro). Quote
ChazfromVA Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 i personally use floroclear for must applications.. except for topwaters and normal cranking(i like the cushion of mono).. o and dont buy vanish! its horrible Quote
BassmanfromNC Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Has anyone tried Seaguar Invinz or the new Triline 100% flurocarbon??? Quote
Banor Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Seaguar InvisX is my choice. Very good line. B Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 18, 2009 Super User Posted March 18, 2009 My experience between the two lines are like night and day. 100% P-Line FC was decent. Fluoroclear was junk. Quote

Bantam1 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I use InvisX now and love it. Seaguar used to make the FC for P-Line so I was told. I used to use the P-Line until I used the Seaguar. I never looked back I do use Sunline for my light line applications though. I use the Seaguar for 10# and up. Quote

The_Natural Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I think their are two kinds of fluorocarbon users: Anglers that use Trilene Pro-Grade 100%, and anglers who haven't tried it yet. Seriously...it's the sack. Quote
CSB Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I really like the fluoro - low memory and sen-si-tive. I lost two fish before going to the palomar knot and havent had a problem since. Quote

P-Line is what I had been using. I'm not sold on any brand yet. I need to try some other brands to make an informed decision. Quote
