ghost Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Anyone bought this reel & have used it? It's $30 more than the Shimano Citica & has centrifugal braking. The burnt orange color doesn't look as bad as I thought, looks better in person. The ergonomics feels much better than last years Quantum b/c models, it's much lower profile & lighter. Also what gear ratio did you get & why. I haven't really used Quantum b/c reels but from what the 2009 b/c reels are, they look like winners. Quote
hawgchaser Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I have only played with the reel. It took the place of the Accurist PT which has a great reputation. I have several of them and love them. But one so you can tell me how they are Quote
PlasticMan135 Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I just ordered the new Energy. got it for $145. The energy, catalyst and tour edition all have the same ergonomics, and my understanding is the only differences in the energy and catalyst are bearings in the handle. I got the energy because I could get it for the same price as the catalyst. The 6.3:1 has a 27 IPT ratio and the 7.1:1 has 29 IPT. Quote
bigmountaineer Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I was gonna say I have a website that you can get the new Quantum TE PT VI for $ 215 Quantum Engergy for $ 145 Quantum Catalyst for $ 115 Also he has the Quantum Accurists for $ 72.95 but I know BPS is selling them this weekend for $ 49.95. Any luck withe Accurists and the flippin' Switch. Think it would work with braid? Thanks, Quote
