SudoomFisher Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I think I have been getting the wrong idea about rods and that is that the heavier rods are less sensitive than the same model lighter power ones. Is this true at all or am I wrong. I'm just starting to buy new rods so haven't had any experience to compare them. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted March 17, 2009 Super User Posted March 17, 2009 that's totally wrong. Quote
wisturkeyhunter Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I use a medium heavy for most my fishing including spring walleyes where sensitivity is very much important. Alot of guys give me a hard time about it but they don't realize my legend elite is more sensitive than ugly sticks and lightning rods even if theres are medium lights which is what most these guys use. Super User flechero Posted March 17, 2009 Super User Posted March 17, 2009 You are mistaken. A good argument can be made that the heavier rod is actually more sensitive. But in reality, the material is the same and the felt influence of the power is not equal between anglers. Quote
