braid w/no leader on spinning how many do this ?

i fish 99% for bass only have 1 spinning rig now for 5" wacky worms and such ,,,, im gonna use 6lb braid ,,,well thats the mono equiv in diuameter it actaully 20 lb test far as braid goes,,,, if either have experience i fish mostly guntersville lake or wheeler lake and i dont consider them to be clear lakes ,,,any advice i appreciate

I do that exact same thing on my not-so-clear lakes and ponds without a problem. It's especially good for frogs, t-rigged plastics, and buzzbaits. One thing to consider, would be if its a bright color braid, run a sharpie up and down the last few feet of your line to disguise it a little better. Have fun out there!

Well, this is an ongoing argument...I think you might be

surprised at how many more bites you have with mono,

copolymer or fluorocarbon line or leader. However, I do

not think it is nearly as important with "moving" lures.

I have one rod set up this way for one specific application.

I throw a Scumfrog Bigfoot on 30lb. braid because the thing only weighs 1/4-3/8 ounce and is hard to get any distance any other way and I love that bait!

I have braid on 2 spinning reels and use them both with no leader but I also only use them for moving lures. The rig with the green power line pro seems to get more hookups than my right with the Fireline Crystal.

I fish a crank baits on 20lb green Power Pro to get maximum depth from them and good hook sets but for slow presentations I use a fluoro leader.

20/6 PP on spinning tackle is great for soft jerkbaits...

This past monday I caught about 25 bass on a suspending rogue using braid with no leader in a clear lake.  Works plenty good for me.  Just remember to set the drag correctly so you don't pull the treble hooks out.

I only use braid and spinning gear for bass. I use a leader tied to a barrel swivel, no need to tie line to line for bass. I use 10# braid and 20# mono leader. If you plan on using any kind of lure with exposed hooks, when hung up, DO NOT try and get it free jerking the rod. Release your bail and take tension off the tip of the rod, then get yourself free by just pulling or jerking on the line, will save you a ton of lures in the long run.

I have 8 spinning rigs spooled with braid. Yesterday I tried the new Fireline Tracer Braid with a wacky rigged Trick worm. I first tied the hook to the dark part of the line and caught a bass, then I cut off the section of dark line and tied to the bright yellow part and caught a couple more bass. The water was slightly stained with about 3' visibility. Most of my other rigs have the Stren Super Braid gold color that I sometimes use with a fluorocarbon leader to make the braid sink for weighless presentations.
