It seems that when I post it usually involves 5+ questions. This I am sorry for but my mind wonders and it all builds up.

1. Do any of you use the sweet beavers? If so do you just use them for flipping or do you rig them otherwise?

2. Do you use trailers on spinnerbaits? Do you use trailer hooks? If you do use trailer hooks and trailers do you hook the trailer hook into the trailer?

3. Do any of you use baby brush hogs?

4. With jigs how do you know what size to use other then dependent on depth? Do you use heavier jigs for reaction bites? Do you use smaller jigs when your dragging or hopping the bottom?

Again sorry, I think I may have thousands of questions about fishing. I love picking peoples minds and especially on here to me you are some of the best anglers. Thanks!

1: Nothing better than a sweet beaver :) flip them and use them on the back of a jig

2: no trailer and not usually a trailer hook either

3:  I absolutely love the baby brush hog. texas, c rig, shakey head, on a jig, weightless

4: I almost always use a heavy jig. the lightest i will go is a 3/8 for flipping, the rest are 1/2-1oz football heads and a 1.5 ounce tungsten jig for punching.

Hmm im going to give answering this a shot.

1. I use the sweet beavers majority of the time just for flipping(pegged with a bullet weight), although I have had times where they worked well rigged weightless/weedless in rivers particularly with gravel/rock bottoms.

2. I will use trailers on spinnerbaits such as the one that comes with the boogie bait, I'll also use single tail grubs as a trailer that match the color of the spinnerbait. But I only do this when I want a larger approach, I usually fish them without a trailer. Majority of the time I use trailer hooks on spinnerbaits, the only time I won't use a trailer hook is if theres just too much weeds to bare. And no I don't hook the trailerbait onto the trailer hook, If im using a trailerbait I won't use a trailer hook as this seems to tangle with the trailerbait.

3. Baby Brush Hogs are a pretty good bait. When I first bought them I fished them weedless/weightless with little to no success. I later tryed them again with a small bullet weight and they worked pretty good. Without a bullet weight added I won't fish this bait. I do great with these rigged weedless and pegged with a bullet weight for flipping and breaking through cover etc. Although they also work pretty well unpegged (I peg em when im flipping them).

4. First thing I'd like you to know is the waters I fish are rarely any deeper then 4foot if that, majority being 1 1/2 - 2 foot, just wanted to let you know that before I go on. I choose my jig size by what I want to do with it. If im flipping it into cover depending on how thick the cover is I'll use either 3/16 - 5/16 ounce. I like 5/16 ounce for breaking through lillypads(I'll use 1/4 - 3/8 if im fishing extremely thick weeds), but I'll often try to get away with 3/16 ounce because I believe you should try to get away with the lighest you can. But if im fishing rivers with little to no cover other then a few small stick piles I'll choose 1/16 ounce - 1/8 ounce, although I've also done well with 3/16 ounce in these situations so who knows, but like I said I prefer using the lighest I can. I've heard people say the rule of thumb is you want a faster rate of fall during summer, and a slower rate of fall during the colder months, I guess you can take that into considerationt too. You also must remember the larger your jig trailer the slower the fall, so I'll often adjust how fast I want the fall rate by what trailer im using.

Good luck :).

#1.yes sweet beavers or anything alike has been my top 3 lures i've used this year with some excellent results. My favorite was putting a 1/4 oz bullet weight and frantically hopping it back after a cast.I've also put 3/8 oz weight to get it down faster as well some days.

#2.yes on trailers for smaller spinners but not on the 1/2oz or bigger ones,no trailer hooks as i find myself snagging and losing the lure to easily with 2 hooks on.

#3.yep,again i like to put a 1/4 oz or a 3/8 oz bullet weight and drag along the bottom.Carolina rigging would be even better.

#4.Size is tricky, since i cast from shore i'm hitting alot of shallow water.I usually use a 3/8 or half oz for a reaction bite(or to be able to control the lure in heavier current) and 1/4 for calm waters on slow days bite.I hop mine on bottom as i myself never got a bite swimming a jig back.I'm sure it's just me on that part. I cast out and let it sit a few seconds, quick snap of the rod and reel in slack, I usually count up to 3 even longer on slow days.No matter how much you read and read about it,if you get the basic concept down it's all about experimenting what the fish want that day.

I usually stick with the basic colors of green pumpkin,watermelon/red,brown or black and blue for any soft plastic lures. For spinners the color white with char. seem to be the popular color here.

1- I usually t-rig Sweet Beavers and hop them along the bottom. Later in the season I sometimes fish them on top the lilly pads like a frog.

2- I use trailer hooks about 75% of the time on my spinnerbaits. I never use a trailer bait with a trailer hook. I sometimes use a chatterbait trailer on my spinnerbaits, but I catch alot of pike with that set-up.

3- Never worry about asking questions, that's what is so great about this site. That's why we're here, to help each other.

1.  I've used them a few times.  I had good success with them, I just never really got into them.  All my fish caught with them were fishing them texas rigged and hopped around submereged cover.

2.  I never use trailers on spinnerbaits, and on the rare occasion that I throw a spinnerbait, I usually have one on unless I'm fishing grassy areas.  I think the trailer hook really really helps.

3.  I've never really had any success on them Texas rigged, but I do occasionally use them as a jig trailer.

4.  I mainly use a 5/16oz finesse jig.  I put long, streamlined trailers on it the warmer the water will get so I will get a slower fall, but in winter I add another skirt and a big, bulky trailer like the baby brush hog or GYCB flappin hog to slow the fall WAY down.

Good luck   :)

1. Yes, amazing bait, pitch it or use it as a jig trailer

2. Yes and yes, Zoom split tail, rarely.

3. Since the super hog and beaver have come it, they have been replaced.

4. Too much info to post. Let the fish tell you what they want, if they are grabbing the trailer and not the jig, go lighter. I usually stick to a 3/8 oz jig, but will go heavier for deeper water or heavier cover. I use a heavier jig when I'm dragging it so I maintain bottom contact.

Yes, extensively as jig trailers, spinnerbait trailer, t-rigged weighted, t-rigged weigthless, c-rigged, split shot rigged, d-shot rigged.

2. Do you use trailers on spinnerbaits? Do you use trailer hooks? If you do use trailer hooks and trailers do you hook the trailer hook into the trailer?

Sometimes

Never use trailer hook

3. Do any of you use baby brush hogs?

As extensively as I use Sweet Beavers

4. With jigs how do you know what size to use other then dependent on depth? Do you use heavier jigs for reaction bites? Do you use smaller jigs when your dragging or hopping the bottom?

To me it 's quite simple I only fish with 1/2 oz jigs for everything.

1. Yes, i fish them mostly weightless during the postspawn and summer on shade lines.

2. i dont use trailer hooks but i almost always put on a trailer. a nice grub gives the bait a bigger profile and many pros, like ken cook, believe a grub gives the bass something to grab, increasing hookups.

3.Yes baby brush hogs are a great bait. texas or carolina rigged or even on a drop shot.

4. Depends on rate of fall you want, how much bottom contact you want, how heavy the cover is if any, and much more.

1. Don't use them.

2. No trailers, hooks sometimes.

3. Dark colors down deep.

4. 3/8 or 1/4 ounce depending on depth and what the fish want.
