aarogb Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Ok I have been thinking about getting one of these for awhile. Do you guys know of anything bad about them or are they just a great rod for a great price? 8-) Quote
Jake. Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 My friend has the 7 ft. MH model and I've fished it a few times. It's a decent rod for the money IMO, the sensitivity isn't great, but it has good backbone. Quote

Otherwise its not too bad of a rod for the price. Just wouldn't do it again considering other options out there. Quote
Gr8wall Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 all my rods are tierra rods. they are great for the price considering i am a college student. of course there is always going to be something better, but they have been good to me. Only one of them has ever broke on my but i was being stupid. Daiwa replaced it under the 5 year warranty free. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted March 3, 2009 Super User Posted March 3, 2009 My Son gave me a 6'6" mh spinng rod for Christmas, I mounted a Shimano reel and have caught several bass and trout with it...For the $$$ i think they are decent rods. Quote
The_Natural Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 This rod uses the same blank as the Team Daiwa V rods that were discontinued. This blank won't win any weight contests (it's a little heavy) and sensitivity is average. I'm a Daiwa guy generally, but Shimano dominates the rods that are under $80. Under $80 I'm going with the Clarus. As mentioned though, if you can save up just a hair more....$90 will buy you a Mojo. You will go from a rod that everyone recognizes as somthing to get-r-done to a rod that you want to show off. That pride will give you some added confidence in your setup (it would me anyway). Quote
Lucky1 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I was able to try a Tierra rod my friend owns and I was extremely surprised at the sensitivity and the balance of his set up. He had a Quantum PT on it and it looked great and fished even better. I would have no reserves recommending this rod to anyone. I use many high end rods and I thought the Tierra was just as good as most all of them. Get one, Im sure you will be happy with it. G Quote
