The_Natural Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Still, if I was to choose a shallow bait like these, I'd take the BDS2. Cosign Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I have the live pointer and it really doesn't work to well for me. I don't know why, I mean it looks so nice in the water, but they just don't seem to like it. The slender point works pretty well for me though. Im thinking of buying there Lipless crankbait that has a lip on it, as they say the lip somehow makes it run shallower then a normal lipless crankbait. The waters I fish are pretty shallow, some of them being no deeper then 1-2 feet, so when I fish a lipless crankbait I usually always come up with weeds, although I just deal with it and they catch me a fish or 2 still. But hopefully this lucky craft lipped lipless crankbait won't catch as many so I might produce better. Anyone here use it, and if so what do you think of it? Does it really run shallower then the normal lipless crankbait? The only thing im not looking forward to, is the lake I do best throwing the lipless crankbaits has a high population of pickerel, now I love catching them, and I don't care when they tear up my rapala lipless crankbaits, but when they rip up a lucky craft, im not going to be to thrilled :-/. rolltide Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 Does LC make a tight wobbling "finesse" type crankbait that is productive in heavy cover? Quote
Super User FishTank Posted December 4, 2007 Super User Posted December 4, 2007 Does LC make a tight wobbling "finesse" type crankbait that is productive in heavy cover? Maybe....... They have the Skeet Reese Mini MR/DR Crankbaits. It's sort of a finesse crankbait. It dives extremely fast (maybe too fast) and has nice side to side wobble. I only have one of these and have done well with it but it is situation specific, in my opinion, so it is not one that I use often. http://www.luckycraft.com/catalog/ Quote
rolltide Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 Are there any must have crankbaits? I'm planning on only buying 2 just to see if I like them. Right now I think I'm going to get a Marty 1.2. Is there any other crankbait that runs in this depth range that would be good also? Quote

Super User Munkin Posted December 5, 2007 Super User Posted December 5, 2007 Right now I can't decide between RC BDS 2.5 or BDS Marty 1.2 for shallow crankbait fishing. Which one works best? I think I'm going to get the CB 001 over the GDS SSR because it dives deeper for a wakebait. Is this a good decision? BDS 1.2 is a great finesse crank for clear water but if I could only get one LC crank it would be the BPS RC 1.5. That lure is a fish catching machine! As far as the CB001 a Mann's baby 1- will outfish it all day long. Allen Quote
rolltide Posted December 6, 2007 Author Posted December 6, 2007 Looks like I'm going to get the R.C. 1.5. Has anybody tried a finesse tight wobbling type in murky water? Quote
HookedinNY Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 With the ponds in this area icing up I am left to checking out the lure websites and planning my purchases. I was just looking at some LC lures today and while they do look great I was wondering if they could really be worth that much money. Thanks to all of you who have posted here. The discussion/information has been very helpful. Quote
rolltide Posted December 11, 2007 Author Posted December 11, 2007 Has anybody fished the Bomber Balsa B and the LC RC series? Which one is better? Quote
Jake. Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Has anybody fished the Bomber Balsa B and the LC RC series? Which one is better? I've never fished the Bomber Balsa B, but you can't go wrong with the RC seies. Quote
santeebasser24 Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 If I had to pick only one Lucky Craft bait, I would go hands down with the rick clunn 2.5 in copper green color. This bait has caught to many fish since summer in south carolina. Good Luck on getting this color (when put in water it looks excatly like a shad) everyone wants this color! Rick Clunn is a great crankbait fisherman, and this baits shows why! I have the 1.5 and 2.5 series. I will get the 3.5 next year for some summer cranking! Quote
