The new PT is solid; tolerances seem on par with my zillions.  I was impressed playing around with it at Cabelas.  I like the lower line capacity, and I'm just always game to try a new reel.  Still not sure....but I'm debating it.

Go for it, Quantum looks like they are trying to get a game plan together and put on a new face so to speak.

The reel looks sharp. I wonder how well it performs?

Try it for a week, then trade it in for the Zillion!

It seems like a great reel.  The old Tour's were workhorses and I wouldn't expect anything less.  Quantum gets a bad rep but I feel like the new PT line is on par with all the rest and they're really easy on the eyes as well.

During the classic coverage Hackney was using them and they sure were bright laying on his deck.   :D

I have always stayed away from Quantum until I got these Accurist PTs. They are great! I am now looking at the Tour Edition as well. I love the ACS braking system. Its the best I have used.

I will let you buy the TE first and see how it goes :D

Yup, looking to buying the tour edition, but in left hand.  Not sure which gear ratio I want.  I'm just waiting for Cabelas to send me a $30 coupon, then I'll get the reel.  I really hate paying full pop when I can try & get it for a bit cheaper.

I know that in a couple three years this reel will be under $100, but I think Quantum has a winner w/ their new line of reels.

I'll be getting the Energy PT-B 30 during the BPS Spring Classic, it will be $30 off w/ the reel trade in...There's something to think about for those wanting a new Quantum, get it during the reel trade-in.

You could always take advantage of *** demo program.  You register, pay shipping and they send you up to four reels of your choice to test.  So in short you can pay 20bucks for shipping get a Tour PT, a Zillion and a couple of others, try them out for a week, send them back, and then purchase the one you like the best.

As far as I can tell....the only manufacturer offered through the demo program at this time is daiwa

I will be looking at this at the bps trade in, I am getting an accurist as well, what do you think of last years energy pt, I can get one new in box for 89$

Take it...I bought one for that price last year on ebay and I love it...I got the e750pt for cranks but it's a great reel

I bought two of the Blue PT Tour Editions last year when they went on sale for a $129, but they were just too bulky, heavy, and loose.  It just didn't feel tight and precisely put together.  That is generally why I buy Diawa's, but the new PT seems like it was built by a different company....or factory at least.

I'm considering pulling the trigger on the new pt energy myself. They do look good. Get the tour already and let me know how it is  :D

My buddies dad just bought one and he loves it...He is a huge quantum fan so im sure his opinion is a little bias....It feels and looks like a quality reel.

Just ordered the new energy last night, after going to BPS and handling the right handed version.  I cant wait to get my hands on it.  Mind you I am a Daiwa fannatic, but with this reel, well I just couldnt resist. ;D :D
