Anyone tried them yet? Is the plastic to give it wiggle like a chatterbait or a type of weed-guard? Also why do they come in long and short bills? Doesnt look like it would dive like a crank... :-?

Nope, had a gift card to ***.com and was just looking around. I fish a lot of flukes in the spring time and I have had a lot of success on Aaron Martens other fluke head so just curious.

i think they look retarted. just get a chatterbait lol. also, i dont like how the plastic bill is infront of the hook. i know its supposed to fold down, but i still dont like it.

my only guess for the size of the bill is tht the larger one will produce more resistance, therefore more vibration...

on the original rad lures chatterbait, the skirt is molded together so its super easy to remove and replace, so you can just slide it off in one pice, put on a fluke, and there ya go. or you could leave the skirt on and still add the fluke for more bulk. tahts how i fish my chatterbaits.

I bought a pack of the 1/2 ounce ones. I fished them on braid with small swimbaits, worms, senkos, etc. about all fall. No bites at all! The bill isn't like a weedgaurd. It just makes the bait wiggle. I expected more. Your better off with the original chatterbait.

Did you just see these on the bass fishing show this morning?

I saw them too, on espn

I'd like to know how they perform.

ya i saw the espn show too this morning, and it kinda ticked me off how they said it was a pretty new technique, even though i tried the same thing with a chatterbait w/out the skirt, and instead with a softplastic about a year ago   :)

There have been lures like this around for years but people have been real good at keeping quiet. Also many people have been making them just for personal use. First ones I can remember seeing were in a small tackle shop in South Carolina back during the eighties. I know some guys have won tournaments on other homemade versions on the same chain of lakes the Classic is being fished on next year at that time of year. If Aaron or someone else wins the classic using it or a version of it you can bet the demand will be high for them over the next year. They might be selling on E-Bay for $50 for a two pack next year so get them while you can.  ;D They work best with a flat fluke type bait made more like a Banjo Minnow than a regular super fluke.  I have a bunch of big flat flukes like this that are no longer made that I use on them.

The Scrounger has been around at least 20 years before the original chatterbait. It  also has a diferent purpose. It is used to giva a soft plastic bait that a wobbling action.  Use it on a basic swimbait, fluke, or grub. Dont know how well they work on freshwater bass but ther couldnt be more proven on saltwaterbass. That rubber bill does not effect hook ups.
