Ok, I am newish to baitcasters, ive gotten it down pretty good, so I am gonna buy a new reel around 100-120$ range!

I am looking at 4 options here. I also want to string braid on it!

1. Abu Garcia Revo S

3. Quantum KVD

4. Gander Mt Elite series

Ill be matching this to a 7' m fast action shiamano clarus casting rod!

I would go with the citica! I was just in the market for one in the same price range and found the citica is the best for the money. I can't wait for mine to get here!  ;D

Double check your rod specs and match them up with the reel of your choice's specs to make sure they balance.

If I had a choice, I would go with the Shimano.

But I am a Shimano guy.

Just check out the rod's and reel's specs to make sure they match; sleep on your decision; and when you wake up you will have your answer.

if you are still confused, write the name of each reel on a piece of paper and throw them down the stairs. The one that goes the farthest is the winner.  ;D

All my spinning rod/reels are shimano, but I picked up the abu 2day and it felt great, just didnt cast with it. The gander mnt one is a nice feeling reel to. I wish they all had line on them with a rod and I could just cast them.

If you have a Dick's Sporting Goods nearby, you might check them out. I got a 2008 model Quantum Energy PTi baitcaster NIB for $89 on clearance a couple weeks ago. They had quite a few other good clearance reels when I was there...

Use the analytical eeny, meeny, miny, mo method.

I would choose the Citica but I'm a slightly biased Shimano guy.

Of the ones listed I would say either the citica or revo....the kvd reel is pretty much a Quantum Code and it's ok but not for 100.

Outside of the suggestions I would take a look at the president and the BPS Pro Qualifier

In order: #2 or #1.  #3 and #4 are not an option.

Next week bps will have the johnny morris elite on sale from 179.00 down to 129.99 I held it 2day and it felt good, has magnetic and centrifugal brake. I might just get that!

I have heard nothing but good things about the Citica, and am actually thinking about picking one up myself. I bought my first revo 3 years ago, and now have 5. 1 Revo S, 3 Revo SX, 1 Revo Stx. They are solid built reels, and great drag on 'em. It's up to you. See if they will let you put it on a rod and check out the balance, and the feel. Maybe that will help you decide.

Did you mean meant on your last post? 8-)  Just bustin' on ya.  Your options may have opened up, but between the revo and the citica, they are 2 great choices.  With extra money for other goodies!
