Super User Micro Posted February 11, 2009 Author Super User Posted February 11, 2009 Fish with it? I was just going to fondle it for awhile. Maybe take it out to dinner. You know, make it my main squeeze. Quote
LakeAnnaBasser Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 man that is a sweet reel.... does bass pro shop hold them?? Quote
Super User Micro Posted February 11, 2009 Author Super User Posted February 11, 2009 man that is a sweet reel.... does bass pro shop hold them?? BPS does not carry them last time I checked. They carry the 7.3:1, 7.1:1 and the 6.3:1 but not the 4.9:1. I ordered this one from Tackle Warehouse. Quote
T-Bone Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 ;D Nice reel! Wish I had the money for one. Quote

Super User Jimzee Posted February 11, 2009 Super User Posted February 11, 2009 Man, that's beautiful! 8-) Uh Oh, something bad is gonna happen. Kent is calling Daiwa reels beautiful. Nice reel Rowland. Do the knobs have screws or are they rivets? If they have screws let me know and I will send you some bearings to put in those knobs. Quote
Super User Micro Posted February 12, 2009 Author Super User Posted February 12, 2009 I just checked. They are riveted. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 12, 2009 Super User Posted February 12, 2009 Underneath the plastic caps on the paddles are rivets? Almost all my Daiwas have a screw there. Remove that screw, and the paddle slides off the handle post. That's surprising if its rivets on a reel of that caliber. I guess they want you to upgrade to an I'ze handle instead of just adding bearings. My partner just picked up one of these, and I'll have to take a look 1st hand. Quote
hercdoc Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Micro...did you purchase the reel from *** or did you get it through the Demo program? Just wondering how that works. Quote
Super User Micro Posted February 12, 2009 Author Super User Posted February 12, 2009 I bought it outright. Quote

Sometimes you get lucky on those handles, that is why I asked if they had rivets. Vientos are all riveted except for a very few. I got lucky and got one that had screws. Quote
Super User retiredbosn Posted February 12, 2009 Super User Posted February 12, 2009 Hope you enjoy the new reel Quote

I worked on a SOL that had screws. I was ticked. Mine have rivets. :'( Quote

ghost Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Cabelas has the 4.9:1 Zillion, check their catalog or online. That's sumthin' I'll get really thinking on when I can get a $30 coupon from Cabelas. Wish Shimano had a lower gear ratio in the new lineup for us leftys. I'm waiting for ICAST this summer to see if Shimano "may" have a lower gear ratio for us leftys... Quote
Bassaholic84 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Man i want that reel bad. I wish bps carried them so i could get $50 off with the reel trade in. I cant afford $270 so im going to go with a shimano curado e5 instead..... Quote
