Speed Worm Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Round: Shimano Conquest (DC or non)Low Pro: Shimano Aldebaran, Chronarch 50/51Mg or Daiwa Steez ..........with money no issue of course. Have you fished an Aldebaran yet? How can you be so certain about it if you have not even fished it? Just because it looks awesome doesn't mean it is the next great thing. Remember how excited everyone was before the Curado 200E came out. And then, people started selling them. I am not gonna pass comment on the Aldebaran until I get my hands on one. Quote
Super User Raul Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 Money no object ? ----> Steez It 's got all the goodies you wanted to see in a BC, size and weight of a Pixy, Type R+ rotor ( found only in the Type R+ TDZ at the beginning ), deep spool of the TDZ 103. Quote

No, I have not, which means I can't be certain about it. But, if it's anything like all the other Shimano reels I own, it's a safe bet that it will be impressive, IMHO of course. I happen to like my Curado 201E7, as well. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 In all honesty, if money were no object, I'd probably be buying more than one on the list. Quote
Hoytman#1 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Heck if money wasn't an issue I wouldn't be worried about which reel to buy. I would be worried about which boat to buy and what color Toyota Tundra to get to pull it with!! ;D Quote
toolpush Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 A friend of mine had a top of the line shimano(digital) he sold it and bought three patriachs with money left over and is more than pleased with them. Quote
Big Tom Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Patriarchs are starting to catch on. They are a lot nicer reel than they are given credit for. I have a couple of them and I am planning on getting more. Quote
SWMIBASSER Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 The two reels I would try if I could just throw away money would be the high end Ardent.... And the Steez. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 If money were no object I would probably get another Zillion because it does everything I ask, at a not to crazy price. On the other hand, I love my Calais and Core. I probably should have chosen other on your list. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 Shimano Calcutta CT100B Quote
MitchIsFishin Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Catt, I played with a Calcutta CTE100GT yesterday while picking up some goodies - I gotta have that reel. Now, if I could just get a loan for it........ Quote
