coolhandlala Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Just wondering. My head spins when I look at what is available. Just wondered what everyone else thought. I am torn between the MG, Zillion, and Premier. Quote
KevO Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Well I voted for the MG, mostly because it's on clearance. Quote
Flywatersmallie Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 The Sol is up there but no Fuego? Where's the Steez? I voted for the STX, only cause I like em. Best casting reel as far as fit in my hand that I have come across so far. Would love to give a Steez a wack though, just cant rationalize that kind of coin Quote
esoxangler Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 If money is truley no issue, my vote goes for the Shimano Calais. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 the Zillion. it just feels so nice. Quote
hawgchaser Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Out of those listed it would be the Tour Edition or Chronarch. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 Shimano Aldebaran or Daiwa Steez Quote
Super User Muddy Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 da FLOOGER all the way 8-) Quote
The_Natural Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Shimano Aldebaran or Daiwa Steez Took the words out of my mouth. I'm really torn on this one....even though I generally lean more towards Daiwa than Shimano; I'm going to say Mg50/Aldebaran on this one. I like the palmability of my TD-Z's better than my steez reels, and a new centrifugal-braked version of the TD-Z is a great idea. Kudos to Shimano! I already have the magnetic version of the Aldebaran... Quote
live 2 fish Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I've fished with a couple higher end Daiwas, and a Skeet Reese Revo. I really love the Zillion I fished with, even if the handle was on the wrong side. If I had enough money to get one, that would probably be my first choice. That or a Shimano Curado, since I've never tried Shimano and would like to. Quote
Super User Micro Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 I'm sold on the Zillion. A few months ago I owned no Daiwas. Now I own two Fuegos and three Zillions. The Zillion is my favorite reel. I'm lucky in that some of my friends are Shimano enthusiasts, others appeal to other brands. And I also get to fish with a tackle dealer that always has somthing new to try. So I've had the opportunity to try several different rods and reels. So far, nothing has impressed me like the Zillion. The combination of weight, feel, smoothness, quality of construction and performance with a wide range ot lure weights is hard to beat. Quote
bronzewb22 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I would say shimano calais or Quantum tour if you dont wanna spend 400 Quote
-nick- Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Yeah if i could have any reel no matter the cost it'd probably be a steez. Quote
fathom Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Shimano Aldebaran or Daiwa Steez not really keen on bandwagons but, i'm gonna get on the one that says these two. Quote
Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 STX or if u can find a rare morrum and u say no money issue get that 700 dollar one or a steez wow nice Quote
Fish MD Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 STEEZ I've got 5 and I sleep with them every night. I've used Stellas (great reels) and every Abu and Quantum imaginable. Nothing even comes close, IMO, to STEEZ in quality. Only complaint would be the physical size but I have small hands so I love them. A buddy I fish with, can't hold them...complains they are too small. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 50mg or the Sol. Best 2 reels u have listed Quote
Super User cart7t Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 The Pflueger Patriarch is doing just about everything I need in a reel although I could be convinced to test drive a Calais. Quote
Hooked_On_Bass Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Round: Shimano Conquest (DC or non) Low Pro: Shimano Aldebaran, Chronarch 50/51Mg or Daiwa Steez ..........with money no issue of course. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Zeebaas... if money were no object. $815 for a reel is slightly beyond my budget. Quote
