I have been fishing the Sufix Braid as my main line and with a fluorocarbon leader. And I have done well,my feel is better,my hook setting is better. And I also use Tru-Tungsten weights.

I fish clear water to off green color lakes. Do you think that I may be giving up bites this way and should go all Fluorocarbon ( Main line and leader )? Not sure if the Braid hurts me!

I don't think that the braid is hurting you at all in this situation.

This is my preferred method as well and I really like the added sensitivity that braid offers.

You will catch more fish using braid because you will be spending less time picking out backlashes than you would be with fluorocarbon.  Can you tell that I am not a big fan of FC?  I will use it as leader material, but that is all.

If you fish rocks, hope you like losing weights.  I tried braid when c-rigging last year.  After I lost about $20 worth of tungsten in one day, I went back to flouro.

My lakes ain't got no rocks.  That is why you ain't catching no bigguns, Burley.

Big bass live in grass and wood.

And I should know that because I catch them all the time....

Nope, but I spend some time on Pickwick Lake and a few hours

each week fishing local ponds. If I fished tough vegetation, I would

consider adding braid to the equation, but that doesn't come into play

on my usual water.

Is there any real reason for different line type or weight when t-rigging, c-rigging, or even drop shotting?  Except for maybe the type of structure?

ROADWARRIOR!

You are missin out on some good carolina rig fishing on the Tennessee. I fish the Chickamauga section of it and good gracious its awsome. I lost a seven pounder on it this summer but I landed aton atleast 200 fish this summer on it. But I would use braid on the main line and fluro leader

I use braid for the main line and mono for a leader. The reason i like mono is that it floats better and helps the lure stay over the grass sometimes. This way, you are not rupping your lure out of the grass every cast and stirring thimgs up too badle or ripping your lure.
