Jake. Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 how do you like your symetre?forgot to add , what do you fish with your setup? It's a great reel with a very smooth retrieve and drag. And I got it on closeout for $50 instead of $80, so that made it even better. Quote

CaptainHooker Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I have two... my fav all around is: Quantum Catalyst spinning reel on a St. Croix Avid 5'6 UL Yozuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 I also use this setup for slightly heavier applications: Phleuger President spinning on a Team Allstar 6'6 L Yozuri HUS #6 Both are VERY smoooooootthhh. And I highly recommend the Yozuri line. Very abrasion resistant and strong as all get out. I've pulled in 10lb stripers all day long in strong currents and not broke the line once. Also, if you hang up, you are likely to pull the boat to it or log out of the water with it Quote
Stasher1 Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Daiwa Regal 1000XiA, Eagle Claw "Featherlight" rod, 4# Trilene XL The rod is all fiberglass, so it's very "whippy", but it works fine for bream and small bass. Quote

I.rar Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 Hey sqhertz, how do you like that Flooger ? I remember when you posted asking opinions on what to get, I see you went with the President. love both of em. i have the 6725 and the 6740. VERY smooth and ive taken both of them to the local marina for a bit of shore fishing and i have no complaints at all. i picked up the 6740 combo for a steal at a sports authority and the 6725 off ebay. id suggest to anyone to check them out if theyre on a budget. Super User Jeff H Posted February 15, 2009 Super User Posted February 15, 2009 For Bass.... Mine is a St Croix Avid 5'6" M with a Cabela's Tourney ZX 2000A spinning reel. I know it's not a UL, but it's as light as I can stand to go for bassin'. I use 6lb XT or 10lb Fireline on it. Quote
