-nick- Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I'm looking for a rod specifically for cranking and this rod is what I'm thinking of getting has anyone used this rod? Or is there a better cranking rod out there for the price? (109.99) Any help is great thanks! Quote
bigbassdave Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 They are outstanding rods for that price range. Thumbs up all the way. I have the 6-6 model and will probably go ahead and get the 7-0 which is significantly lighter than the 7-0 Kistler composite crankbait rod I have which cost me $75 more. Quote
fishizzle Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I love my 2- 7' St croix med power baitcasters for cranking and jerking but I'm sure they are not the best for the money. Its just what I'm used to Quote
Dave D Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I've had the below rod for about 8 years and it is bar none my fav for fishing 1/2 traps. Premier Crankbait PC70MM 7' 1 M Mod. 8-14 1/4 - 5/8 I swear I can feel just about every little thing that trap runs into with this rod. A blade of grass, a rock, shad, another fish, just about anything. I'm going to be getting the next rod up from my dad for this up and coming season. He bought it and doesn't ever use it. PC70MHM 7' 1 MH Mod. 10-20 3/8 - 1 Let us know how you like it. Quote
Olebiker Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I have 2 Premier rods. I absolutely love them except for the guides. They are very prone to breaking. Check out Falcon Low Riders. They are about the same price and are built with better components. Quote
uicdent11 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 For those that have one already, do you have the glass or graphite version? Quote
fishizzle Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 graphite I can't use glass--too bendy Quote
