Hi Need help on a old Pinnacle vision vs10 reel. I got this from a friend and I like to do a a major cleaning of the parts.  I got the schematics from the net already but I cant seem to get the non handle side to open.  Also, the braking system on this reel is quite old and I have no idea how to set them.  I found a total of 8 plastic stoppers in the box with it and a tool (like a small box wrench).

TIA

Hi Everyone.

Need help.

How do you remove the non-handle side plate of your Round Reels like the shimano Calcutta. It might help me with my VS10 Pinnacle reel.  Im afraid I might damage it if I force it.

Thanx a lot

I don't work proprietary reels (Pinnacle, Silstar, etc)...

But on a Calcutta remove the spool and look at the inside of the palming side plate, you will see to small screws remove these to remove palming side plate to access the e-clips and washer for line carriage worm gear.....

Good Luck......  :)

I have run into Calcutta (not sure how your side plate is anchored for that reel) side plates that stick, I use a very fine slot blade to slightly pry it lose, or use a heavy pin or small dia nail to push the plate off through the screw hole, or leave the screw in the hole loosened about 4 turns and push on the screw head.

Good Luck!!!  :)

Do you still have the Pinnacle Vision vs-10?

Considering he posted this thread 10 years ago, my money is on no.
