sean0920 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 got to try my new citica e and the mojo today. i have it rigged for shakey headn. i must say the mojo is great, but i dont think my citica e is for light lining 1/4 or under. i had to set all six brakes just so the thing wouldnt backlash. i am using 100% berkley flouro and seemed good. so i am at a decision point. either i go back to spinning or i buy a curado e. what do you think? Super User Dan: Posted February 2, 2009 Super User Posted February 2, 2009 Hmmm. I'm going to have to go give 1/4oz a shot on mine. I took it out and cast 3/8 just fine but I haven't tried 1/4oz yet. If you can't get it to cast 1/4oz like you want it to, then I would replace it with a spinning rod/reel. I think spinning is the best bet for 1/4 and lower. Quote
ProCraft Joe Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I had the same problem with my Curado. It would cast the weight ok but after awhile of taking up loose line the spool would get loops and start backlashing. I use a PTi 4000 series for lightweight jigs and shakey heads now. Quote
djmax22 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Get a Shimano MG. It is an amzing reel for light stuff. I remember last Spring was launching 1/8oz hakey heads under windy conditions with no problems. Quote
