I have a St Croix Premier and like it, but with the Mojo's now out I would try one of them. The Mojo's use the same blank, so they are probably very similar.

What do you guys think is the best rod under $100.00? Thanks for the help :)

I don't think that question's answerable. There may not be a "best", but even if there was, nobody has tried them all. However, everybody has their favorites.

My personal practice is that I don't have brand loyalty. I'll buy almost any brand if it has the length, power, action, handle and overall feel that suit my desires. I've had rods under $100 from Garcia, Quantum, Fenwick, Gander Mountain, Daiwa and others that I've been pleased with.

There are a lot of decent products out there.

I have a bunch of Fenwick HMX's, and IMHO can't be beat for less than $100, I also have 3 of the new St Croix Mojo Bass rods, but have yet to fish them so I'll holdoff on judgement for now. The Compre has the best warranty and is a great rod too. I have one and would add more if the mood strikes me. If you really want to save some money, the Shimano Clarus seems like a great rod for it's price, and I have never had a bad expierance with a Berkley Series One, or Lightning Rod.

I really like the Quantum Energy in that price range. It's a very underestimated rod.

X2 love it more than my 2 crucials...

I would not buy a rod on line unless I have seen it person first and put my reel on it, I have made that mistake.

As far as best, that's subjective not objective, it all lies in your own opinion.

I like the Allstar ASR series rods the best with St. Crois Mojo coming in a close second. The ASR feels better in my hand but its a personal preference thing. I feel the split grips make me LOOK like I know what I'm doing , even if I don't! ;D

the team all star rods are now $79.99, best rods for the money.
