I noticed that folks talk of the original green Curados with much reverance. Can someone tell me which model they are?

I can remember when they were red. I hope I am not mistaken, I do know I had a red Shimano reel, and I think it was a Curado.

Very early versions of the Bantam Curado were in fact, red.

An original red Curado sold on ebay recently.  It was NIB...it had been in someone's closet since '92.  It went for $140....graphite frame and all!

The first Curado was actually two tone grey and silver. The "Tomato" came after it :)

Yep, that actually why after the B model you get the D model.

The silver should have been the A model, the Tomato the B model, the mean green the C model, the grey the D model and the new mean green the E model.

I would have loved to have it. It brings back old memories.

I have been looking on Ebay for one. I guess I missed that one, though I don't think I would have paid anywhere that price.
