A couple of months ago I posted that my local tackle dealer had Daiwa Fuegos on clearance for $149.99 (MSRP $249.99).  Well, now they are on sale and the sale price is $134.99.

At last check, only 4 left.  You can't order on-line, but they will take a phone order and ship to you.

That's a heck of a deal.

dang, I forgot about that sale. I was going to call and see if they had them in left hand versions. Any idea if they will keep them on sale until Bassarama?

I doubt it.  There were only 4 left and they are on clearance.  I don't think they are going to carry them anymore.   They told me they just don't sell that well.

I'll give them a call tomorrow to see if they have any Left handers. That really is a great deal, I hope they have one.

Yes.  It's good enough to consider becoming a right handed fisherman.  :)

ha! not quite. I was fishing a righty today and I felt incredibly awkward.

I forgot something.

Thanks Micro, for the heads up.

Cheers,

They didn't have any lefties? That makes me feel better about them being sold out now. Oh well, would have been a sweet deal if they had the model I wanted.

Thanks nothing!  THANK YOU!  For cleaning them out, that is.  You have no idea how tempted I was to buy two more.  I bought a Zillion instead for a killer sale-price of $224.   Even then, I almost turned around on interstate to go back and get a couple more.

Hope you guys enjoy them.  Mine are super.  I'm still learning to cast with the Mag-Z brake, but they are top-notch in terms of construction and finish.

Greentop is always having an unadvertised sale on something.  I love going there and seeing some half price tag on something I've been wanting.

just wanted to follow-up on this. i received my fuego a few weeks back but it wasn't until last weekend that i got to use it out on the water. in short, i love it. in fact, i actually found the whole experience of fishing it alongside my curado Es and revos enlightening, seeing firsthand how each company implements spool management using different approaches. now i'm in the market for a zillion crazy cranker  ;D

Another follow-up.

I got the two I ordered last week. I asked them to not ship them when I ordered them, but to wait until I called back. Went on a vacation, and didn't want them sitting on the porch while I was out of the country.

Great people to deal with at Green Top, by the way. If they had a website, I'd be buying more from them with no qualms.

Haven't used mine on the water yet. The water is still hard in these parts. I did try out one of them in the backyard. Excellent caster, quiet and smooth. The reels are smaller than I expected. Very comfortable in the palm. These two will replace two of my PT's, on plastics rods.

I'll be buying more Daiwa reels. I got the Quantum PT bandwagon for a while, but now I'm back on Team Daiwa. I will replace all of my other reels, except for the two Revo stx"s I have. I'll keep those, but everything else will be Daiwa from now on. I've seen the light.

For the rest of my current lineup, I'll need three more reels. I'm thinking two Zillions and a Sol.

Look for some bargains on used but not abused Energy Pt reels on the Flea Market in the near future.

Green Top will be going on-line here shortly.  Might be a good retailer for Glenn to contact to get them to become an advertiser.

If anyone finds these Fuegos for $150 again, please do send me a PM.

They're for sale many places for $170 but $135 and such is just a crazy good deal.

Thanks

Check your local Cabelas store, I bought mine for $160 a few weeks ago.  I bought the left hand version!
