fishizzle Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I just picked up the 6:1 model (AC500pt) at Cabelas half price for $60. The salesman said it was a great reel (of course). Cabelas reviews mostly got 5 stars except for those who got defective models. What do you think? I will be using it for cranks, jerks and texas rigged stuff Quote
U.W BronzeBack Hunter Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 The accurist is a great reel. I have the 7.0:1 burner version, and i've tested it out on the lake a few times, and it's been treating me well. not sure yet about its durability, but seeing how it's a quantum (i've been using quantums for a while) it should be of high quality. Biased (shimano) opinions will now appear after me... : Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 It sounded like a great reel in the review on TackleTour also but they didn't have any lefty AC501PT's left so had to pass on the deal. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I purchased an Accurist when they first came out about eight or nine years ago I guess. It held up well for me considering all the junk I put that thing through as a teenager, but it still works today. The only complaint I have with them is they are not very smooth with casting or reeling, but they will launch a bait a long ways. For $60 , you cant really complain, I would have bought it too!! ;D Quote
lubina Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I purchased an Accurist when they first came out about eight or nine years ago I guess. D I also have one from that time, the CX 401, paint is damaged but functionally a 10/10 Quote

D I also have one from that time, the CX 401, paint is damaged but functionally a 10/10 AC400's, (1) AC401, AC500's, (1) 501 and a 500PT from that era! All still running good! Yeah, the paint is chipped here and there but looks aren't as important to me as functionality is! Quote
