sean0920 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 would segaur invisx have more sensitivity than p line flouroclear? i have read that the segaur has alot of qualities of mono even though it is fluro. iwas getting ready to order some sunline fc sniper but the segaur invisx caught my eye due to price thanks Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 18, 2009 Super User Posted January 18, 2009 Seaguar Invisx is one of the best around, FC Sniper is a close second in my book. Don't even waste time with co-polymers. Quote
Super User islandbass Posted January 18, 2009 Super User Posted January 18, 2009 Unless fluoroclear is a true fc line (I don't think it is), then I would give the knod to Invizx. The line with the higher specific gravity ought to 'feel' more sensitive. I can say as a user of FC line that Invizx, despite its mono like feel, superbly tranmits data to your hands. With this said, the difference in specific gravity might exist between both line in question, so I am best guessing that the difference might either be minimal, slight, or non detectable by some. scbassin Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 The Seaguar InvisX has a lot of stretch I would go with your 2nd. choice. Quote
Randall Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I can feel way more with the InvisX and I have fished with both lines. InvisX has some stretch but can't be compared to stretch in regular mono. It's totaly different and I don't exactly know how to decribe it other than to tell you it has stretch but don't feel stretchy. Quote
Super User islandbass Posted January 19, 2009 Super User Posted January 19, 2009 The Seaguar InvisX has a lot of stretch I would go with your 2nd. choice. The fact that it stretches does not mean that it is less sensitive. As I mentioned, the line's density (or specific gravity) is perhaps more of an influence in the sensitivity department vs. how much a line stretches. I have used both lines enough to know that Invizx, despite its mono like characteristics is superior (at least in my hands, and in my hands even an ugly stick is sensitive) to fluoroclear in the sensitivity department. This does not mean that Fluoroclear sucks, because it doesn't. But Invizx is better. Based on my experience and findings I concur 100% with Randall. Given that someone else's hands will differ in the sensitivity department, they might find the converse to be true. Quote
scbassin Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I have not used Fluoroclear so I can not say if InvisX is more sensitive or not. I can say that InvizX has a lot of stretch & I would go with his other choice which was Sunline FC Sniper. Quote
Super User islandbass Posted January 19, 2009 Super User Posted January 19, 2009 You sure are right about the stretch, but ironically that is what I like about it. You get the give of mono at the same time you get much of the data sent to you through the line, even when it is semi-slack. The fc sniper line has caught my eye too. I wouldn't mind trying it on a casting reel. Quote
