sean0920 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 well i got the mojo bass in 7 feet medium action/fast tip. my new curado e wont be in till next week. the rod is beautiful and it is very light and sensitive. i put another curado on it and went out in the yard just now and threw a couple times. man this thing is sensitive! i could almost feel whether the jig was coming across the grass or the dog poo! just casted a few times cause its a balmy 16 right now at 4 in the afternoon. i have one slight issue with the rod. above the first guide(from reel) there is a something, not sure what, but it looks like maybe a drop of glue or something. it looks like a slit, but it is raised and about 1/16 long from right to left, not up and down doesnt appear to be a crack or anything, just more like a tiny line of glue that got painted over. i guess it is no big deal. i am pretty particular though and it still is on my mind. again, i dont see any split graphite, and the line is raised instead of like a crevice or crack. i dont know but i cant wait to try it out. i am going to make it a shakey head rod although i have not mastered the flipping short distance or skipping under docks that works well with a shakey head on lakes with docks. i have only been throwing the baitcast for about a month now, and i should use my spinning gear for shakey heading, but i just dont even want to pick it up cause i am enjoying the baitcaster so much. depending on what happens on the water, i will probably order another mojo for dropshotting. its a toss between the mojo and the woo daves bass pro extreme. sean Quote
coolhandlala Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Sweet! That is a great set up, especially for your first BC. I just started using a BC last year and am hooked. I have 5 now and I know what you mean I don't even want to pick up my spinning set ups. Although there is stuff you can do with spinning tackle that just doesn't work as well with a BC. Congrats man! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I wish it was 14 deg here so I could get the mail. It is -12 in the sun. But I have the biggest fishing jones so hopefully it warms up soon. Yeah right. Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 its a toss between the mojo and the woo daves bass pro extreme. sean Trust me, get another mojo. On sale, the extremes aren't a bad value but they're about as sensitive as a broomstick. For moving baits they're not terrible but if you're using it for drop shotting, you'll be much happier with the St. Croix. Quote
Mike 12345 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I've had my eyes on the Mojo's and have checked them out at BPS. Be sure to come back and report on performance, feel, etc when you use it. Quote

I hope you like youe Mojo, I will take a look at them. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 17, 2009 Super User Posted January 17, 2009 I have had the 3 I bought for about a week or so now, will be april before I fish them though. These are my first leap into split grip rods (well I had a kistler for about 30 secs.) so untill I can tell if I like them or not I think the price is right. I have always found SCII graphite to be pretty durable, and senstivity is better than most rods in it's price range, and actually better then a few more expensive rods (Loomis GL2 to be exact) I expect these Mojo rods to be more than senstive enough for what I will use them for. I got the 6'6" M/F topwater/jerkbait, the 7' MHM crankbait, and the 7 H/F slop and frog. Quote
