rboat Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I know this has been talked about some, but I have not got a clear picture yet. I want to fish swimbaits this year. Most say use minimum of 20lb mono. Some say 30-65lb braid, and some say 20lb flourocarbon. My swimbaits are not that big, 5 to 7 inch and 3oz is the largest I have so far. I am thinking of getting an Okuma swimbait rod and cardiff 300 reel. Need proper line suggestions. Thanks. Quote
Branuss04 Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 20#-25# mono. I use P-Line CXX. Big Game works well also Quote
BARON49_Northern NY Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 For swimbaits I like to use 30lb Power Pro braid or 17 lb Trilene XT. I use the braid in and around cover and the Trilene XT in open water or fishing them deep. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 12, 2009 Super User Posted January 12, 2009 20lb CXX for everything I have been throwing. Will likely go up to 25lb for the bigger Huds this year. Quote
