-nick- Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 The other day I was using braid for the first time, Power Pro 30lb. And I love how it casts and everything but after about 10 casts I threw my lure off my line. I was using the knot that you like twist over 7-8 times (sorry I don't know names of knots yet) and was wondering if I should use a different knot. Quote
warmer Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 because braid doesnt stretch it doesnt cinch as well. i had a lot of problem with braid slipping at first, then i started tying a double palomar knot and hitting the end of the tag w/ a lighter and have never slipped again. be sure to wet the line when you tighten it down. this guy goes through a couple more times than is necessary in my opinion. Super User J Francho Posted January 13, 2009 Super User Posted January 13, 2009 Palomar and Uni knot will be your two best knots with braid. Quote
Matt 825 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 For tying on a lure to braid line, I use the Palomar or the Trilene knot. Never had a knot break with braid. Quote

moloch16 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I saw Dean Rojas (i.e. bass pro) at a fishing show in Raleigh NC. He uses a double palomar knot with braid, so that's what I plan to use from now on. He showed everyone how to tie it properly. Very nice guy! Quote
