what is your take on the Shimano Citica D?

My take:

I have the 200d version and it is a little heavy (9.9 oz), but i can still palm it even with my small hands.

It feeds line nice and even on the spool which makes for effortless casting and it balances perfect on my berkley lightning rod SHOCK 6'6" MH Casting rod.

It has a smooth drag and comfortable grips on the handles, also easy access to VBS brakes (6 pin)

It reels in unbelievebly smooth for easy retrieves.

As for casting i have 4 brakes off and 2 on in an X pattern, i have the spool tension nob (the one by the handle) set extremely loose, and believe it or not today i took it out in the yard and mananged a 55-60 yard cast with a 3/8 oz casting plug.

I like my curado200e7 a little better(because of ergonomics) but My Citica200d is casting the same and retrieving the same as the curado, I just love it! So what are your thoughts on the Citica D??? I'd be interested to hear what you have to say.

Just my 2 cents.

I just got one for christmas and I love mine. It casts nice and smooth. I got mine to cast a little more than 60 yards. I think it is a great choice for anyone.

I have converted my Citica 200D to 7:1 gears and use it for buzzers, frogs and swinbaits with 50lb Power Pro.  Works like a dream.

Had two...got rid of them both.Just a little too big and heavy for my hands.I prefer the 100's over the 200's.

Are we measuring the actual yardage or just guessing?  2/3 to 3/4 of an entire football field is longer that you think.

Oh a 100 yards is nothing. I once threw a 1/4 oz. Rat L trap so far it landed up hitting me in the butt  :) ;D ;D

Measuring. You should see me with an excalibur xr50  :)

I regularly throw a 1/8 oz. Rooster Tail 200 yards using a Garcia 5500 and 40 lb. test Big Game.

::)

;D ;D  I'd like to see that!

As for the Citica....I have a Citica 200D also.  It is bulky and heavy but it casts/retrieves so nice and one helluva workhorse reel!  Of course, I've thought about getting a newer model but I just can't bring myself to letting it go.
