I have a Sammy that is missing one hook, and the other is an aftermarket hook, of a larger size (bought this one used).

I found that *** sell Lucky Craft trebles, and split rings.  Should I buy them, or is there a cheaper substitute?

Should I buy them?
.

Yes

Darn, asked the wrong question.  Stepping backward slowly, slowly, backward, slowly backward.

Pheww.  That was close.

Now, the problem is, I don't have a clue what size to get.  It is a Sammy 65.

*** has 3 sizes - treble hooks 8, treble hooks 6, and treble hooks 4.  The LC website, on the Sammy 65 page, says Hook tail #8.  Belly #8.

I am assuming that hook tail, and belly, are hook sizes, therefore I need to get the number 8s.

Now, for the split rings.  *** has #1, #2, and #3.  What size do I need there?  LC's website doesn't say.

The easiest thing to do is go to a retailer and match up replacement hooks with the hooks on a new lure. You can do this by sight, it is not necessary to actually measure the hooks. Lucky Craft uses VMC hooks, but Gamakatsu or Owner replacements will be fine.

Just because it's a LC lure you don't need to buy LC trebles. :)

I use owner ST-36 trebles as replacements. Size 8 should work fine for the sammy 65.
