I know this is a very wide scale question ut I will ask anyhow. What line do you prefer for your different types of baits?

Worms & Jigs

Spinnerbaits

Crankbaits

Swimbaits

Worms: 15lb P-Line 100% Fluorocarbon

Jigs: 50lb Power Pro Braid

Spinnerbaits: 17lb P-Line 100% Fluorocarbon

Crankbaits: 10lb P-Line 100% Fluorocarbon

Swimbaits: 25lb P-Line CXX

Worms-10lb. trilene fluoro.

Jigs-50lb. powerpro

Spinnerbaits-20lb. trilene mono.

Cranks-10lb. trilene fluoro.

Swimbaits-Don't care, I don't use them 8-)

worms/jigs- flipping and pitching veggy BRAID Bottom bouncing 12# to 15# flouro

spinnerbaits- 15# pline flouro

crankbaits- lipless=50#braid shallow sq bill=20# berkley big game deeper=10# pline flouro

swimbaits- weedy=50#braid open=15#pline flouro

The only bait I fish with heavy line are swimbaits, the others do not depend on the bait but depend on where and what ( cover and/or structure ) I 'm fishing so it can go from as low as 6 lb test up to 17 lbs test.

I fish mainly clear water with lots of weed cover like Milfoil and Hydrilla.  Here are my normal setups.

Worms...Power Pro 30 lb braid on baitcasting and 10 lb Fireline on spinning

Jigs...Power Pro 50 lb thick cover 30lb in more open water.

Spinnerbaits...Trilene XT green 17 lb

Crankbaits...P-line 10 or 12 lb Fluoroclear

Swimbaits...Trilene XT green 17 lb or Power Pro 30 lb
