ReelMaster Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 As I mentioned I am new to fishing. I have been reading a review of David Fritts reel and it had this written on it "DF10HC has PowerLock instant anti-reverse; other models have dual-pawl anti-reverse." I can figure out what instant anti-reverse but what is dual-pawl anti-reverse. Also, what gear ratio do most people use for crankbaits. Thanks for all the answers. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted December 28, 2008 Super User Posted December 28, 2008 The dual pawl and single pawl anti-reverse reels have a lever (pawl)and ratchet gear that prevent the reel from turning backwards much the same as the instant anti-reverse but there is some slight backward movement with the pawl type. My cranking reels for lipped baits are 3.8, 4.7, and 5.0 ratios. Quote
