Ya the Gammy EWG's are good for them, but if you are going to be fishing some nasty stuff with braid go to the gammy superline hooks.

For almost all soft plastics I fish 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu or XPoint Offset Worm Hooks (Owner is another brand that has a big following). For smaller presentations I also use 3/0 EWG or even 2/0 EWG. For 7" Senkos and the Senko Swimbait, 5/0 Offset Round Bend.

I STRONGLY recommend spending the money on high quality hooks. Save money other places, do NOT skimp on hooks or line.

Agreed 100%.

I use pretty much Owners and Gammys all the time. You do not need wild hook sets with these better hooks. Especially when tex-poseing.

Definitely don't skimp on hooks - I once bought a "value pack" of some kind of G-Lock style hook, not sure if it was Mustad or something else, but I got three strikes with a senko with only one successful hookset, and the 25 pack went into the tacklebox, never to see the light of day again.  All my hooks are Gamakatsu, from EWG to offset to circle to trout hooks.

I use a 3/0 EWG Gammy for a Baby Brush Hog. A 2/0 is too small and a 4/0 seems too big but a 3/0 seems just right....For me that is.  I buy them in the 25 pack. I need to step it up and add more Owner hooks to my box too. The Owner frog hooks that I bought impressed the heck out of me!

Love Owner Hooks. In the process of getting the smaller sizes in my tacklebag right now. I was a big Gammy man and still have a nice selection. But if I have the the size I need in an Owner than thats what I will use. In the incision it puts into the fish is clean and it doesn't tear the fish creating big gaps at all. Have huge confidence in them.

You won't be disappointed. Most of mine are the Wide Gap Plus series in 3/0, 4/0, 5/0, and 7/0 for my big 12" worms.
