Hey all...

I recently got what I believe is a "score" on E-Bay. Three (3) Daiwa Procyon baitcasting rods, all 7' Heavy action for $99.00 with FREE SHIPPING!!! They are no G Loomis, but I have several, and love them. At this price, the Bait Monkey INSISTED I get all three, so I did.

What application would you use these rods for??

I am just looking for some friendly opinions on possible applications. :)

Thanks,

Alan (bassnajr)

Did you already pay for the item? The Procyon is a discontinued product, and can be bought pretty cheap. I'm sure it performs close to what the Compre does, so you should be good. I'd use it as a worm/jig/pitchin' rod.

A little cheaper here....

I only have one 7' H rod and I use it for 1/2 and larger spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, heavy jigging spoons and jigs.  Everything else I can do on my MH rods.

Ditto! Same thing i use my heavy rods as well.

I'm tempted to get rid of all my MH rods and switch them out to mediums.I see almost no usage for MH rods unless you just want an all about one rod.If you look at the rating MH and Heavy is almost identical rating.

I just bought a 7'6" H rod for c-rigging heavy spinners buzz baits and smaller and lighter swimbaits such as Berkley hollow bodys and BBZ-1 Shad.

I would use it as a frog rod over matted vegitation, a heavy Flippin Stick to punch matted Vegitation. Maybe a Carolina Rig.

I swear it didn't say 3 in the original post, but I'm definitely glad.
