The Rooster Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Is it possible that my baitmonkey can attack my wife instead of me?? She came to me today and said to order ANOTHER Bass Pro Shops Extreme reel....AND....a Shimano Compre rod for it!! She said it would be part my Christmas presents from her but I'd need to order it so I got what I wanted cause she didn't know which models to get. I didn't waste any time ordering the reel, it's already on it's way here. I'm going to a local tackle store to get the rod though. Figured I'd give those guys my business since I've been shopping THEIR rods to figure out which model I want. And I'm sort of trying to build my customer/shop owner relationship there so they know me when I come in. Sometimes that goes a long way I think. Quote
SDoolittle Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Maybe if the bait monkey would have struck my exwife from time to time I would still be married! Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 6, 2008 Super User Posted November 6, 2008 Be very careful Rooster. It sounds like a possible set-up. She might be getting ready to ask for something super expensive. Quote
Certified Public Angler Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 haha. Last time I went to Sportsman Warehouse my fiance was doing errands and she swung in there for me. Turned out I forgot my wallet at home, but she offered to buy the bait i came after. The purpose of my stop was for a Lucky Craft pointer...found the one i wanted...16$. She didn't seem to be phased by it, maybe she didn't notice all the $4-$6 lures we walked by. ;D Well I caught 7 bass today on that lure, told her thanks afterwards. She also bought me a Mann's baby 1 minus a couple weeks ago, she said it was cute and fat. : That is twice I've got a lure for enduring a day of errands that have nothing to do with me. 7 months before all errands have something to do with me... The Rooster Posted November 6, 2008 Author Posted November 6, 2008 Be very careful Rooster. It sounds like a possible set-up. She might be getting ready to ask for something super expensive. If you knew her you'd know that would be way out of character for her to ask for anything expensive (she's tight with money). She just wants me to have stuff like this is all. She's always been that way. I'm just surprised she was saying for me to get another one this soon after I just bought the last one, less than a month ago. Anyway, I was just excited about getting another one and wanted to post about it, that's all. Now I'll have 3 of these reels with 2 Shimano Compre rods for them. The other reel is on another rod that I really like so it will stay there. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted November 6, 2008 Super User Posted November 6, 2008 Life is good for you. Quote
Flywatersmallie Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I think I have it good too.... Not to the point where she pays for things but she is unphased when I bring a $400 combo home (happens more often than perhaps it should) AND tell her what I spent. Oh, wait! She just bought be a reel, I guess she buys me stuff too. lol ;D Quote
Brute Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 The Bait Monkey got my wife also a couple of weeks ago. She was in Charlotte visiting our daughter and stopped in the BPS there. she called me to see if there was anything that I wanted from there. I gave her a specific lure and color, and she walked out of there with $50.00 worth of stuff for me. Thank you Bait Monkey. Oh, and thank you Honey. Brute Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 6, 2008 Super User Posted November 6, 2008 Rooster, my wife is the same way. The only problem is that when she calls BPS to order stuff for me, which I have picked out, of course, the person at BPS talks her into buying something else that I don't need or use. But my wife is the greatest, just like yours. Arn't we lucky to have such fantastic mates???? Quote
The Rooster Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 Yes we are!! Mine doesn't have that problem though, she's not easily swayed at all and she's very practical so trying to sell her any "extras" would fail miserably. But while I was ordering the reel I suddenly remembered that I had a $20 off coupon for ordering over $100 in merchandise.........so while I was grabbing the reel for $65 I also added a sweater for my brother for Christmas (still not over $100 yet though)................and $17 worth of Berkley Trasistions fluorocarbon for the new reel (definitely over $100 now ). adclem Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Wish the bait monkey would bite my wife like that.lol Actually with my wife in school full time for another month and finals approaching she keeps kicking me out of the hose and sending me to BPS for the day to hang out and she actually sends me with money so technically I guess he did bite her as well.lol Later, Quote
