mattm Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Robert, Are these high end foreign reels more sensitive than say a G Loomis? I'm just wondering about the huge price jump from the rod you posted and a Loomis. My guess is that both are equally sensitive, but you pay the bucks for the bling. Thanks Matt Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted November 1, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 1, 2008 This rod in particular is the newest technology in graphite. The pattern you see is from the process used to make the blank. Are they more sensitive that the GLX rods? Maybe. What you're paying for is the technology, finish (second to none) and exclusivity. As a certified tackle nut, I just think they're cool. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 2, 2008 Super User Posted November 2, 2008 I almost ordered one of the Evergreen models but they have NO warranrty. Or should I say limited (very) warranty. I would probably buy one at half price if it was Robert selling me one of his. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted November 2, 2008 Super User Posted November 2, 2008 Is that a telescopic rod? Looks like it is, plus that makes the Kaleido part make sense. Like kaleidoscope. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted November 2, 2008 Author Super User Posted November 2, 2008 The rod is not telescopic, But it is a two piece similar to the Ballista. Bassin blvd, I wouldn't hold my breath for that type of sale. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 2, 2008 Super User Posted November 2, 2008 As far as I know my wife has not taken inventory on my rod collection so I may still spring for one. Actually, it isn't the warranty that's holding me back. It's the fact that I can't hold one before buying. Quote
shimanogloomis man Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 815 bucks thats pocket change ;D : Only $815 with the current exchange rate. Quote

When you're ready to get one let me know and I'll offer my opinion as to which would work for your needs if you like. To be honest, if I had to choose a favorite rod brand today, including Megabass, I'd choose the Evergreen rods I have hands down. I like them that much.... Quote
