Shimano crucial vs. Carrot stix

I read both reviews on tackletour, but all they do is just providing general information and overall opinion, nowhere do I see a side to side comparison of the two. Can anyone of you guys who owns both give a brief comparison, like how they really feel in action? Thanks

I own three Crucials but no Carrot Stix. A bit of food for thought, I have seen numerous folks selling their Carrot Stix but not too many Crucials.

i think there a horse a piece ... i have also seen carrots being sold ,,, and read over 5 posts of people exchanging them for different sticks ... i have never used one but when you read all the reports of returning rods and selling of rods ,,, makes me wonder .... also i wouldent buy a rod from a golf club company ... these rods are mass produced in china ... and dont even have the best componets ....  im a croix guy and i wont ever buy a tryumph that rod is built in china ... id rather get my rods built here in the good ol usa .... just my thoughts ... also if you are thinking about a carrot ,, why not get a tryumph ... built in china just like the carrot but with better componets and 70 bucks cheeper ...  ;D

Thanks for the responses. Carrots get my attention because of what they call nanotechnology or some sort, equal weight distribution and being lightweight. They indeed do look flamboyant, but I could care less  ;D. I have been meaning to go to some store to actually try them in person together with some other brands; the only store I've been to recently was academy sports for baits. Just don't have the time  : :

I have not used both, however I went to buy a carrot stick and came home with a Crucial.  The reasons:

1) Cost the Crucial was less money

2) Cabelas warranties Shimano rods as there own, ie. you have a problem you get a replacement in store.  No shipping, No waiting.

I have not been disappointed with my decision.

Ok since no one else owns both I guess I will be the first to answer.  Yes I have both, a 7'3 MH Carrot Stix and 7' MH/mf crucial crankbait rod.  I love the crucial, I can launch any crankbait big or small with it.  It is a great rod, sensitive, and is very light.  Bare in mind I have it paired with a curado 200d which some say is too heavy.  And I can throw it all day without any problems or soreness.

Now the Carrot Stix, is starting to grow on me.  I use it as my worm and jig rod, and sometimes it doubles as a frog rod.  My first impression was it was very light, but not as sensitive as I had heard (at least that was my belief).  And not really any more sensitive than my st. croix premeire rod.  Now I have switched to mono to braid I can really feel the difference.  Now the lightest bites thump the carrot stix.  

It is kind of difficult to compare these to rod because they are two totally different animals.  But I am gonna have to side with shimano on this one.  I can't really tell a difference in weight between the curado/crucial and Core/carrot stix.  Buy the crucial you won't regret it!

They are made in Japan...  As far as the components go on the carrot stix, yes the guides do look cheap, but they do a good job.  And the hook keeper is in a weird spot but like I said earlier its growing on me.

While I do not have a carrot stick I have spent the day with one and all I will say is you'll never get my Crucial.

           I just got a Carrot Stix 7'3 MH and love it. It is the second Carrot I have purchased. The first was the 6'9 parabolic and I am not much of a cranker so I traded it for a Chronarch. The 7'3 is "all that". I don't care where it's made.........

                 What ever happened to Made In America? Now we are worried about  Japan, Korea, China, Mexico and so forth. If you dig it, buy it. If it suits your needs, then it was a great choice!

For those who are much concerned about where something is made, I stumbled upon this while looking up some info about the truth behind labels, 'made in Italy' for example (not fishing related, trying to find a good wallet ). I'm not sure if this applies for things other than clothing and accessories or for regions outside Europe, but here it is:

      According to article 24 of the European Customs Code (Reg EEC 2913/1992), a product which has been made in two or more countries is considered to originate in the country where the final transformation or substantial work took place.

Keep in mind 'final transformation or substantial work' may simply be putting on the label and sticker.

BTW, flippin4it, how does a parabolic rod feel?

       The parabolic has a bend to it threw the entire blank, it is very forgiving. It is really light and does not feel like a whip / puppies tail  like most crankin rods do. Making it a great light/medium crank bait rod. But like I said before. I'm not much of a cranker, so I traded it to a buddy for a Chronarch and he loves it. I had purchased it at a bass expo for $105.00 and in the frenzy of the moment I bought the wrong one. I had intended to buy the 6'9MH but ended up with the 6'9MH(P). Now I'm the proud owner or the 7'3MH. It is way lighter than my Kistler LTA's.

If anything, I've found them to be a little softer... I own a M and a MH.... I'm sure you will love them. The M is so much fun to fish shakey heads and drop shots on 6lb line.  8-)

I own both the crucials and a carrot.  I too find the Carrot to be much softer than labeled.  I have the 6'9" MH and find it does much better with reaction baits instead of bottom baits.  I love LOVE my Crucials and if I were to buy another rod today it would be this series.  Yeah the Carrot is lighter but I do prefer the Crucials.  If Shimano would go to a split grip on all of their Crucials I would be broke very quickly  ;D

This wasn't on purpose but if i were to look at my rods and reels that i actually use, i would only see Shimano. The only rod i use other than the Crucial is a Compre, i use it for spinning tackle. I went from Ugly Stiks to  BPS Bionic Blades to Compre's then to the Crucial's and stopped there. I absolutely love them.

Ok I have used both the Crucial and the Carrot Stix. IMHO, the winner is the Carrot. The Carrot that I used was a 7'9" Extra heavy, and I have never felt so in charge with a rod. Super sensitive, and incredibly light. However there was about a year in between using the two, so its not like I used them side by side. All I know is that the Carrot really left an impression on me. Close behind it though, was the Crucial for sure.  Third would be the Falcon Lowrider.

I'm not exactly sure, buy I believe someone awhile back said 3.4 oz.
