I have a few items from each company and after about 2 years of use, this is all I can contribute to this thread.

Daiwa has an amazing drag system on most of their spinning reels and I love it. The reels are also very smooth. No problems with it at all yet.

I have 2 Quantum baitcasters, one Tour Edition and one Energy PT and they are really smooth reels.

I have 2 quantum Energy PT baitcasting rods and their rods are probably the best you can get at that price. you can check out the BPS reviews on it. A lot of people like that rod for the price of 100 dollars, but I get them for about 86 bucks CAD which now a days is about only 70 USD. Can't beat that price.

I dont like quantums reels i never have had one that didnt have something go wrong with it. I have used a few of there rods and havent had any problems with them, they have been decent rods.

daiwa makes a great reel and a great rod havent had many problems with any of there products, although i have had a few problems with there reels but they have been small problems that are easy to fix.

if i were to choose beetween the two i would go with daiwa for sure.

but i would honestly look at some shimano stuff tho if i were you  :)

well i'm thinking about getting the quantum code bc reel or the daiwa megaforce plus bc reel
iwas also looking at the ''code'' reel , then i read all the reviews on BPS and changed my mind . im gonna go with the AbuGarcia REVO S reel , and if i come up with more money to put towards my reel purchases , ill get the Abu Garcia REVO STX reels . by everyone's reviews , you either get the ENERGY PT or the TOUR EDITION PT reel and spend alot , or get the Abu's i listed , for me , i think the Abu's are better for my type of fishing , and with 24 lbs. of drag , you can't go wrong ....  ::)

i know they don't sell the QUANTUM ENERGY PT or TOUR EDITION , but alot of other reels have alot of useful reviews on BASS PRO SHOPS website , look up different reels and then scroll down and read all the reviews , i always start with the lowest reviews first .... i hope this helped   :)

No true. I bought two Energy PT's at BPS. The reason they aren't listed right now is because BPS closed out the old one's and the new one's aren't available yet. BPS did the same thing with the Curado's and Citica's.

Glade or a fart in the face? I'm a Glade man, but you might be into the latter.

Glade might smell better, but a fart's more fun.  You can't light glade.

I burned a hole in my underwear once.  And before anyone gets their panties in a wad...I'm totally kidding! I think you should choose whatever reel gets your bait out there. You rod on the other hand....

I know what you are going to say...Zillion rods.  I gotta admit, I played around with a Zillion a week or so ago and it is not only one great performing rod, but one of the prettiest I've seen (I absolutely love the look).  Killer reel seat.  I messed around with an Iconelli rod, too.  Not nearly as impressive as the Zillion.

im not sure what all the hating is about on the quantums, but i own three of them and i just bought that tour edition from cabellas tonight. they all perform flawlessly and smoothly.

i have a diawa too though. and its great.

between the two reels you listed id say neither. you can get a citica for a hundred bucks. or a revo s. i have the quantum kvd and its great for the money and you can probably find an accurist pt for 100bucks if you look.... or that tour edition quantum if your lefty....or can reel left like me!!! ;D
