bigfruits Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 im interested in knowing why you prefer fast over extra fast (or vice versa) for your jig/worm rod. ive only used fast action rods for these applications but im thinking of getting an extra fast to try it out. more specifically, im using a loomis sjr783s for light jigs and worms and looking at trying the st. croix ltbs68mxf. what difference will i notice when throwing 1/4oz jigs and t-rigs? (mr. Rockatansky?) thanks -z Quote
skillet Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Can't really tell you anything about those 2 rods :-[. Bought a Crucial not too long ago for plastics and small jigs (1/4-3/8) and made sure it had XF tip action... skillet Quote
Mike 12345 Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 learn from me ... go with F not XF Can you elaborate? I'm in the market too, and interested in your response. Quote
Jake. Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I like a M/XF rod for jigs in the 1/4 oz. range. If you use anything much heavier I would go with a MH/F or MH/XF though. Quote
bigfruits Posted October 23, 2008 Author Posted October 23, 2008 what im trying to figure out is why some people choose F or XF over the other for this application. Quote
