Stopped in at Dick's today to pick up some worms. While browsing around I saw a 2 St Croix Triumph rods with Diawa Capricorn spinning reels on the rack for $25. The other one's just like it on the same rack were priced at $130 each. The capicorn reel itself was on sale for $70 on it's own I think.

So I look closer at these two rods and realize that someone had priced them wrong. The $25 sticker was supposed to go on a Field and stream 2 piece rod of some kind.

I brought one up to the register and told the guy that I think it was priced wrong but would take it if it was that cheap. He told me that it was the right price.

Needless to day I walked out with 2 St Croix Combo's today for less then $50. I couldn't believe it. I know there are better rods out there but this was one heck of a deal ;D

If its marked with a price tag, then Dick's will usually give it to you at that price.  If it looks like some one tampered with the tag (tag switching) they'll use manager's discretion on pricing.  I bought my son some baseball equipment that was mis marked.  Same story, pointed it out to the cashier, but still got the price.  When I went back, they had fixed the prices.  In a store with that many SKUs, and under trained part time help, accidents like that happen.  Be honest and keep your eyes open - managers will remember you, and sometimes offer you better deals later.

I totally forgot the best part of the whole story. I was looking at the rods in the first place because I had broken the tip of my Triumph a couple of weeks ago and was curious to see what it would cost to replace it.

Turns out in this case only cost me $25, and I get whole new rod and a good reel as a bonus  ;D

The funny thing is I was so excited about the deal on the combo's I forgot to buy the worms I stopped for in the first place

Haha well thats not a bad deal at all Chuck, similar thing happened to a friend of mine earlier this year at Walmart someone messed up the pricing on tree stands they were supposed to be marked down to $109.99 but someone messed up and had them to $9.99 so he ended up getting a hell of a deal on tree stands lol.
