Handy Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I fish with braid on all my reels and I started thinking in the one lake I fish with clearer water it would help to have a flouro leader. But from what I have read I am not sure I want it. So my question is in semi clear water, about 5-6 foot clarity and just a little bit of green tint would I be better off just using a quality mono for a leader? And if so whos? And then clear or green tint? Thanks. Paul Quote
Super User Marty Posted October 18, 2008 Super User Posted October 18, 2008 I can't answer your questions, all I can do is tell you my experience. I fish water ranging from stained to very clear. I've used two superlines, smoke Fireline and green Power Pro and have never used a leader. Would I catch more with a leader? No way to know, all I know is I have full confidence in the leaderless lines. Even if I used a leader it would be impossible for me to catch enough fish, over a long enough period of time, under controlled conditions, to ever get a definitive answer. Quote
