Does anyone have any views on the Diawa s-rods: green backs?  I am thinking about purchasing a better rod and $100.00 dollar range is where I need to be around.  If there are better rods for about the same price let me know.

St Croix Premier for right around that price point, Triumph is built on the same blank for $70. Or look for a used Avid, much better stick and you should be able to find a used one for around $100.

A couple other suggestions for right around the $100 mark.... Team All Star, Falcon Lowrider, Shimano Compre, Fenwick HMG. All are great rods.

Also, if you keep an eye out, I bought both a Loomis Mossyback and a St Croix Legend Tournament on sale in the $110 range over the last couple weeks. Now is clearance time, go get em!

BPS have johnny morris signature rods on sale for 80.00 , a much better rod for the money.

I agree. I picked one up a few weeks ago for $100 and may wind up buying another at the current price.

The ones on sale are the '07 models, but as far as I can see the only differences between the '07 model and the current model is the new hook keeper and they changed the shape of the foam/rubber knob that screws into the butt. They retailed for $160 back in '07, so the $80 sale price is quite a deal.
