Super User bilgerat Posted October 9, 2008 Super User Posted October 9, 2008 Found 330 yd spools of Sufix Elite at the local Wally World for $4.00, which is roughly half price. They must be dumping their fishing gear for the winter, it's just about wiped out. Have not tried Sufix yet, have been a diehard Trilene fan forever, but for four bucks how can you go wrong ? Quote
Bassboss Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 It's my favorite mono!! (*if i send you 5$ will you buy me a spool*) Quote
basser89 Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to keep an eye out to see if they do that at my wally world. The only problem I have with wally world is the heavist pound test they carry is 10#. I WAS a die hard Trilene fan for about 20 years or so but I've made the switch to Suffix! Quote
DADto4 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I've also been a Trilene XL guy for many years' Is Suffix the way to go? Does it have the same No memory charcteristics as Trilene,, or better? :-/ Quote
JL Zingg Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I swore by Trilen, however when I bought my last BC reel, the Gander MTN guy asked what line I use, 'Trilene", he suggested (and gaurantee) I at least try Suffix. Elite is good, but after switching to Seige last week, that is Great line! Both have virtually no memory and the Seige is very smooth. Quote
Stasher1 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I picked up 12 spools of Sufix Elite @ $4 each from WM last year when they put all of their fishing crap on sale. I love it. I've switched almost all of my mono rigs from Trilene XL to Sufix and have no plans of ever going back. If I had bought the few remaining spools of 4# they had, I would've switched over my UL rig as well. Try it, you'll like it. Quote
DADto4 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I went out to Walmart today and bought 1 spool to try for sundays pre-fish,If it's as good as you guys say I too (a 20 year Trilene guy) will have no hesitation switching Quote
Jake. Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Sufix is great. It handles like XL, but it is stronger and more abrasion resistant. Quote
Certified Public Angler Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Suffix Elite is quality line. I feel like it doesn't stretch as much as other monos. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted October 13, 2008 Super User Posted October 13, 2008 I like sufix quiet a bit...a few months ago a local discount store had several several boxes of 100 yrd sample spools for $1, elite and seige, needless to say my smaller spinning reels will not be naked anytime soon Quote
Stasher1 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I hit three of my local WM's on my way home from work today and none of them had Sufix line. :-[ I did manage to find a couple SPRO Junglefrogs for $5 each, though. Not a great deal, but I scooped them up them anyway. Quote
