Super User Micro Posted October 12, 2008 Super User Posted October 12, 2008 All Star has dropped their American Classic line. These were great rods. Well made, sentitive, super tough, and gorgeous to look at. I'm gonna miss them. Quote
basspro48 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Did All-Star decide to replace them with the ASR series? I used to have an arsenal of American Classics, they were my favorite rods until I started to discover the more expensive "better" rods. I caught a lot of big fish on those sticks and they were an awesome rod for the money, sad to see them go Quote
Trick Worm Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I just bought a team all star 7' 6" Heavy and it is very impressive Quote
Super User cart7t Posted October 12, 2008 Super User Posted October 12, 2008 Already off of the website. I've got a few of the older Classics. All are crank bait rods. I really wonder if there was backlash towards the change of the rods color from the original dark grey/maroon to the blue. It seems the older classics sell well in the aftermarket demanding near new prices but the American Classics don't despite the fact they're basically the same rod, just a different color. Quote
shawnmc Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 My local Gander Mountain still had some American Classics in stock when I bought my Team All Star. If your interested in picking one up check Gander Mountain, maybe they will go on sale. Quote
Bass Tracker Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 This is sad. :'( The American Classic's are my favorite rods! Quote
