bigfruits Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 5-6 in a boat 3-4 in canoe main reason i like several rods is that i hate switching baits on the same rod. Quote

The_Natural Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 I took 7 tonight: 4 crankbait setups (BDS 1, Moonsault cb100, RC2.5DD, and a trap)\ 1 spinnerbait 1 football jig 1 spinning rod rigged with a slider I did not end up using my spinning rod, and used the spinnerbait only a couple of times. The deep crank (RC2.5DD) did not produce a fish the times I threw it. I did catch two fish on the trap, but mainly the jig and two shallow cranks dominated. Cranks should highlight your game plan when fish start to go into a fall pattern, with the football jig backing you up when the fish aren't chasing baitfish. The football jig worked in the heat of the day, and the shallow cranks worked as it went into the evening. The moonsault cleaned up when there was activity around me in open water, and the BDS 1 pulled a few fish hanging out by trees and stumps. No hogs tonight, but a few good fish on the jig (only a few bites), but the two shallow runners produced quite a few fish (4-5 keepers...7 or 8 dinks). I had a blast. Heading out again in the morning... Quote

diver_sniper Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Right now, I'm limited to just 3. I hope to have at least 6 by spring, and will try to continue adding. 1 Med-Hev BC that I fish my topwater stuff with. Sprofrog, spook, poppers, buzz baits, whatever. 1 Med BC that I fish mainly a jig or t-right with. 1 Med SR that I fish light stuff with. Sluggos, small suspending cranks, smaller spinner baits, unweighted plastics etc. I'm still pretty new to fishing hard and am in college, so money is tight. I'm pretty sure though that I will end up being one of those guys with 10-15 in my boat at a time, because even with the 3 I have now, I'll find myself tying a half a dozen knots or more in an evening of fishing. That's wasted time I would love to get away from. Quote
lubina Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 In my boat, 3 swimbaits combos and another 6-10. In someone else's, 6 combos. Quote
