Strike Prince Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Hey all, so I am having some probs with the Revo S baitcaster I just recently purchased. My terminology is lacking, so bear with me.. The "casting button" doesn't 'click' definitively so it doesn't release the spool most of the times when I try to cast. The button will move down, but not 'click'. Sometimes, if I push the button down hard enough, the spool will be released (still without the click though), but when I reel, no line is picked up. The little line guide on the reel will move back and forth like in normally does when you reel, but nothing comes in. I have never done repair so I am at a loss. Does anyone know if Cabelas will do reel repair? I didn't buy the reel form there... Thanks guys. Quote

Super User fishinfiend Posted September 13, 2008 Super User Posted September 13, 2008 I would exchange it. I don't know about Cabela's, but BPS will exchange a reel w/o a receipt or box. Quote

plastic ninja Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Make sure the thumb bar is in the up position when youre done adjusting that d**n six pin brake, this a common problem with the low end round reels they sell. Take it back and get a REVO SX. Quote

Take it back and get a REVO SX. The S is hardly a low end reel and adjusting the centrifugal braking system would not have an effect on the clutch bar. Quote

If the reel came out of the box with that issue then by all means return the reel to the seller for replacement or refund. If it started this issue during the season then send it to Garcia® for warranty repair.... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!! Quote
