Top Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Here are the facts... I placed an order with Bait n Hook on Thank you for your order, Your order number is: 3317 Date of order: 8/31/2008 02:54 PM Shimano 200E7 High Speed Curado BaitCasting Right Hand Reel CU200E7 1 $179.95 $179.95 Subtotal: $179.95 Shipping & Handling: $2.14 Tax: $0.00 Order Total: $182.09 NO WHERE I SAW DID IT SAY THE REEL WAS BACK ORDERED.... then on 2 SEPTEMBER I saw that it was on back order so I emailed them asking what the deal was... this was the response... Dear Sir, They said it should be in sometime nextweek. For the curados Thank you Baitnhook I then tried to CALL them... the customer service hours are from 3-6 PM mon thru fri.. thats it!!! rut roh... I am getting a bad feeling here... but I wait... and wait... then on the 11th I get emails saying I have been billed and the item has been shipped with a delivery date of the 16th... with a UPS tracking number... SOOOO I check the tracking number... and it says that Bait n hook has printed the label but it hasn't actually SHIPPED yet.. well I was like.. hmmmm OKKKKK well I wait.. and wait.. I IM'd LBH and asked if it could be a mistake on UPS' side and he made a call and said more than likely NOT so I wait some more.. FINALLY TODAY... it still says that the label has been printed but the item hasn't been picked up yet... so I called.. DURING THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TIMES... and had to leave a message... then I emailed them... and no response.... well I just checked the UPS tracking... the DANG THING WASN'T PICKED UP UNTIL TODAY at NOON!!!! with a new delivery date of 18 Sep... They didn't bother to upgrade the shipping or ANYTHING for sitting on this thing for 2 weeks... I even SHOWED Them where it said that the reel was IN STOCK AND READY TO SHIP when I ordered it... to say I am less than thrilled with this company is a valid assumption... I just wanted to let everyone know my experience with these guys or GUY... I have a feeling this is a one person show out of a garage or something... and just be careful when you order... if you NEED it by a certain date... your probably not going to get it... and their idea of communication leaves a lot to be desired.. heck I would have been better off ordering it from EPAY!!!!! AL Quote
Super User Micro Posted September 16, 2008 Super User Posted September 16, 2008 I will avoid them like the plague. Customer service hours of 3-6 PM? Phhhpptttt! Quote
Bass XL Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Man I'm sorry to hear that. They will not be getting any business from me in the future. Quote
Super User fishinfiend Posted September 16, 2008 Super User Posted September 16, 2008 Al- I think they need some incentive to improve via ordnance Quote
Top Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 Al- I think they need some incentive to improve via ordnance hahahah broh... its not THAT serious... and i am not even saying don't buy from them... I am just relating the facts to my experience... make your own decisions.. AL Quote
The Rooster Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I wish they could see this. Over the experience of one customer turning out badly they now have lost several potential customers in the future, not to mention this story will circulate around for hard to tell how long and may even resurface down the road even a year from now and cost them more sales again. Something like that would be incentive enough on it's own to straighten up their act. At least to improve on their communication. Some of that may have been beyond the guy's control but coupled with all the other stuff that could have been done better, it makes it look like it's all his fault. The bottom line is, people just don't want the hassle and will shop elsewhere. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted September 16, 2008 Super User Posted September 16, 2008 Man I'm sorry to hear that. They will not be getting any business from me in the future. X2...sounds like bad business practice from what they put you through. Quote
GeneinTX Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 MSG AL, Maybe you should send them a link to this post.... it may inspire them to do the right thing! Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted September 16, 2008 Super User Posted September 16, 2008 Just think, some member on here (not mentioning any names) that can be totally trusted, had two NIB for sale a couple weeks ago. That is until he kept getting flamed just because he wanted to make a little profit on them. Not picking on you MSG_AL, just all the others that decided to jump on the bandwagon and complain about the sale price. I believe a certain well known member on here was the one that recommended the site in which you purchased the reel. Too bad you had to find out the hard way. I feel for you bro. Quote
GeneinTX Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Making a little profit form a sale is the American way.... the bad service is not. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted September 16, 2008 Super User Posted September 16, 2008 What's that saying about getting what you pay for? :-X Quote
Top Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 ok DOWN BOYSSSSSSSSSSS! this is how it is sometimes... I hold NO ONE responsible but me... I was the guy that ordered the reels.. not on anyone's recommendation... now when I decided to get this reel my crack dealer errrrrr BURLEY had already sold the reels its no ones fault but the establishment with the poor service and MINE for being the one that bought from them... SO leave anyone but us two out of it ok? And just so you know... Burley's price isn't bad... heck you take the price of shipping and the pay pal charges.. and he isn't hardly making anything for the privilege of letting YOU be the first on the block with the newest toy... now you want to know a cut throat hobby.. try the hot wheel collector community.. SHEESH!!!! now THOSE guys will charge BIG BUCKS for you to be the first on the block with the toys... AL Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted September 16, 2008 Super User Posted September 16, 2008 It's all good with me AL, hope you get your reel soon. Quote
mike bat Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 ohh thats funny i was on that thred ... i didnt even take the price of the 2 reels into thought ... i was just wondering why you would make a post saying how full of win the new cus were ... then you have them in the fle market ... made me ask questions .... wonder ... i think thats what most of the members where thinking ... not torching a guy due to price .... ;D Quote
Top Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 Mike your thinking of Burly, my thread was a photo comparison... and as far as Burley goes.. he is a great guy and I THINK (dont know for sure) that what he was doing was trying to hook someone up with some EXTRAS that he got in... sometimes I will do the same thing.. if the bait monkey gets me at a good time and I find something in high demand I will pick up some extras and offer to my buds.. now Burley offered to 5,000 of his Buds ;D Correct me if I am wrong Burley which I could VERY WELL BE... but he wasn't making any money on the reels to speak of... LESS than 10 bucks after shipping and Pay Pal fees... that isn't too bad if you ask me... but unless you look at all sides of the cube you may not understand what the make up is... I still have my ONE E7 and I have another one (this one in question) in the mail... and I am wanting to get a new rod and reel set up SOON so I will either get an E5 or the new Citica... cheers AL Quote

CFFF 1.5 Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 there are no bad intention, just making a point. Quote
Bassyak Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I bought a new E7 from an retailer on eBay last week and had it in 3 days (already used it twice). I paid $179.95 with free shipping. I don't know what the aversion some folks have toward using eBay. For the most part, I've had nothing but good things to say about those I've bought from and those that have bought from me. Certainly no worse than dealing with some "regular" online retailers. Quote
