i want a snap that wont interfere with the action of any lure (even fine tuned rapalas). would the smalles size of these work? anyone have any experience with these? are they any good? any reccomendations on other snaps?

I have never used those particular snaps, but I would recommend using a Norman Speed Clip.

I've used those on crappie rigs but never on bass lures.  Never lost a jig on the crappie pole, though.

I use the smallest speed clips even on my biggest cranks.  I used to take the split ring off the lures but found that except for the very smallest lures it didn't change anything.

X8

The fish in my avatar was caught with a white strike king pure poison attached to my line with a speed clip

I've used them and like them. They're easy on your presentation and have a lot less metal ahead of your lure than the speed clips. I would recommend dual locks when fishing in weeds however, as the tip of the small snap clips can accumulate some debris.

ok thanks for all the input guys. i appriciate it.

crestliner, that it the reason these particular no-knot clips caught my eye, cuz they werent big and bulky like the speed clips. but i'll see wat they have at the store and pick up a pack.

I used to use Normans, then Avid turned me on to the BPS clips and now I use their version of the snap and Cabelas. I have found out , following Fivebasslimit and Avid's advise by throwing lures into a pool and watching the action , that the size of the clip can effect the wobble and wiggle of lures and you can manipulate that to your advantage!

hey, is there a general rule for terminal tackle in terms of sizes?  for instance, the lower the number, its always a bigger size or vice versa?  like on owner treble hooks, i believe the smaller teh size, the larger hooks (i think thats how it goes).  What do you all think, cause i am in the market for for soem snaps, but dont konw which to order cause i dont know the sizes.  Thanks everyone

I have used the Noknots you are asking about.  They are tiny and very difficult to grasp without pliers.  Once i got the hang of them with the needle nose pliers they are realy quick.  I tested the large size for strength with 12 lb line and the line broke before the clips gap was wide enough to release the lurei was using.  i like the NoKnots, but i am not currently using them due to having forgot my needle nose pliers and not being able to use the clips without them.

One major downfall I figured out is the clip will interfere with the hook set on single hooks.  I had a dramatic increase of fish that got off the hook after the hook set.  I finally landed one only to see that the hook was not set and the tiny edge of the Noknot was stuck in his jaw.  As soon as I swung him to the boat he shook and dropped right off.  I will never use a NoKnot for single hook applications again.

If you get them make sure to get the large ones as they are still tiny.  And plan on using needle nose pliers to operate them.
