Speed Worm Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Scenario: Shimano decides to manufacture a new batch of 200E7's and 200E5's with the same mechanical attributes, but with the old 200D's color scheme. Would you be more likely to purchase one? The attributes and quality of the reel is undeniably good, but I just can't get over the color of it. It does not please my eyes! Quote
mike bat Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 the color should be the least of your worrys ... the color of your reel never effects the amount of fish you catch ,, does it ??? preformace ,, what its all about ... if a reel was pink and offered great preformance ,, guys would buy them up Quote
Willzx225 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 I know Kevin Short sure would! (Buy the pink reels that is) Quote

Would you be more likely to purchase one? Since such thing ain 't gonna happen then there 's no point in theorizing what if. The attributes and quality of the reel is undeniably good, but I just can't get over the color of it. It does not please my eyes! Don 't buy it. Or buy it and you can have it custom painted to your liking and turn into something like this for just $135: Quote

mike bat Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 LOL thats funny ... i geuss i just dont care about color too much ... then again i see where you may want the reel color to match the rod ... green will olny look nice on a few combos ... but even if you have your green cu on a orange carrot ,, you still have a sweet reel //LOL Quote
Super User islandbass Posted September 5, 2008 Super User Posted September 5, 2008 You might as well go with the Citica E. It is as close to the cool looking gray and the Ds. I myself don't care that it went back to its green color. I think the citica looks cooler in the Es. I will concede however that I my current stance is based on photos only. I have not seen either in person and so my stance just might change. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted September 6, 2008 Super User Posted September 6, 2008 i like the color. Me too. Quote

shimanogloomis man Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Personally i like the green color in the sun its a couple of different shades looks bad @ss.. goes good on my loomis bcr 854 rod ;D Quote
bigfruits Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 i like the green color because it goes really well with my khaki pants. it also matches my green canoe. i would never use it on an aluminum jon boat. that would look sooooo dreadful. Quote
