Big-Bass Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I picked up a casting model Mitchell Fulcrum Rod at a Flea Market over the weekend for get this...$8...haha! It has a split grip with EVA and looks really nice. When did these rods come out? What is this rod worth? It looks great with all guides in good shape, foam in good shape, clean, etc. Thanks. Quote
Randall Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 They sold new for $13 dollars at Kmart between five and ten years ago. They made a spinning combo that sold for around $40. Lots of people including myself thought they were worth much more and had a collection of them. I still have one left but at one time I owned around twenty of them. The best low price rod ever made. 1 Quote

Big-Bass Posted March 20, 2022 Author Posted March 20, 2022 Adding a response to a really one old... Today at a flea market I picked up a 5'6" Mitchell Fulcrum casting rod with a pistol grip handle that has an extension to the handle like a modern split grip. The rod is 5'6" and rated for 1/4-1oz. It came with a really nice Shimano Citica 200B reel. Grand total: $5 I had to share since I posted many years ago about a similar rod and good price. 3 Quote

Big-Bass Posted March 20, 2022 Author Posted March 20, 2022 I was actually researching the rod and forgot about the 2008 one I got (which is since no longer in my possession). I found it funny that I bought another. I cleaned up the Citica this morning and it literally looks brand new. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted March 20, 2022 Super User Posted March 20, 2022 I had 2 of those Fulcrums, I would still fish them if I still had them. 1 Quote
Somafire Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I’ve got a fulcrum pro that’s 6’4” and a Shimano Spirex 4000 FG, the one with propulsion line management. The combination is a mainstay for me. Absolutely wonderful to hit the rivers and lakes with. 1 Quote
