Super User roadwarrior Posted November 8, 2007 Super User Posted November 8, 2007 I store most of my lures in 3700 (Plano) boxes, but I bought a BPS tackle bag with 3600 series boxes to carry the lures I might actually use during a trip. It forces me to be more selective. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted November 8, 2007 Super User Posted November 8, 2007 I have Plano's 3700's in assorted sizes, a couple BPS and Tackle Logic 3700 style boxes. Quote

Bud Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Falcon boxes all the way. I like the way they keep everything tangle free Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Falcon boxes all the way. I like the way they keep everything tangle free Yep, me too. I do have 3700 but they are older then falcon boxes have been around or store plastic stick baits. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted November 8, 2007 Super User Posted November 8, 2007 I'm doing the same thing as rw next season. The big 3700 series soft tote allows me to take far too much stuff with me; 70% of which I never use on any one outing. I'm asking the kids for a BPS XPS 360 system for the boat. By the way, here's another question: do you use a tote which stores your boxes horizontally or vertically? Quote
luckyinkentucky Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Plano 3701 boxes are what I use. They are slimmer than the 3700 series boxes, so I can fit more in my BPS tackle bags. I can fit 5 - 3700 boxes in my BPS tackle bag OR I can fit 8 - 3701 boxes. Unless you have some really fat baits the 3701 is a true space saver. I do have a few Falcon boxes, but found that I can fit just as many jerkbaits in the 3701 as I can in the Falcon Jerkbait organizer, and I pay half the price. Unless I get them on a 50% off sale I won't buy anymore Falcon boxes. Quote
basspro05 Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I absolutely love the falcon tackle storage systems, the boxes are great and the bags are even better. MY V12 storage bag has a tarp on the side that folds up and acts as a rain suit for the bag. Keeps everything dry on a rainy day. I know they are alot more expensive, but in my opinion they are worth the extra bucks. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted November 8, 2007 Super User Posted November 8, 2007 I like the 3600 boxes for my red BPS bag that way I have some room leftover for my freezer bags full of soft plastics. Now for spinnerbaits nothing beats a Falcon box. Allen Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted November 9, 2007 Super User Posted November 9, 2007 I like these for cranks: http://cgi.ebay.com/SHIMANO-Crankbait-lure-storage-tackle-box-crank-bait_W0QQitemZ280171140982QQihZ018QQcategoryZ22696QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Shimano no longer makes them. They made one for cranks, one for topwaters, and one for stickbaits. I bought a bunch of them when BPS clearanced them out a couple of years ago. For tangle-proof storage of treble-hooked baits, these are the absolute best. I like the Falcon boxes, except for the odd size. They're too big for a 3600 bag, and a waste of space in a 3700 bag. I use them anyway. The terminal tackle box, spinnerbait box and spinner/buzzbait box are the best for each application you can buy right now. The crank boxes are not quite as good as those discontinued shimano's, but better than anything else you can get now. I'm seriously considering going with all Falcon boxes for everything except plastics. The smaller size would force me to plan better, think more about each outing, and be more selective. Been looking at the V6 bag. That would limit me to six boxes. One each terminal tackle, spinner/buzzbait, topwater, jerkbait and two crankbait boxes. I'm just not quite convinced that I can do it. I've gotten used that big ole Okee Fats bag, and all the stuff I can pack in it. I normally have nine of the shimano boxes in the main compartment, the Falcon terminal box in the back pocket, a 3600 box in each end pocket, tools in the front pockets, and towel and first aid stuff in the top flap. I really need to cut down, just can't seem to pull it off. To that, add five BPS dual finesse binders bags full of plastics and it takes two boys and a donkey to carry it very far. Cheers, GK Quote
Cajun1977 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 ive had the shimano boxes and plano boxes and everything else out there....by far the falcon boxes are the best option .....i just spent around 200 dollars replacing all my boxes with falcon boxes. Quote

Tokyo Tony Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I use 3700 boxes, but I'm slowly transitioning to the 3701's. Those things ARE true space savers - I can fit almost twice as many of those as 3700's in my soft case deal type thing, and it keeps the lures tangle-free, as luckyinkentucky said. I use a Falcon box for hardbaits when I'm going shore fishing or in a friend's boat, and I also use a Falcon box for my terminal tackle. The higher quality of the Falcon boxes is noticeable, although I'm not a huge fan of the 4-clamp system. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted November 9, 2007 Super User Posted November 9, 2007 The Falcon boxes are wrong-sized. I use their terminal box, but that's about it. Even it isn't perfect. Too much play between the lid and the dividers allows small hooks to migrate from one compartment to the next. Quote
