I bought the Daiwa bait caster a few months ago at a sportsman show in Toronto, Ontario. I used it maybe 5 times because all of a sudden I would hit the button to release the line to cast it, cast it and then it would not click back in as I spun the handle, I had to spin it as many as 30-40 times before it would click back in and this just wasn't once it's maybe 50% of the time... any ideas on how this could be fixed?

Also the drag is a star drag on the side to tighten or loosen to control the drag but unless it is all the way loose or all the way tight it could easily be hit with my hand and moved to a different setting. That's how loose it is without being on the loosest or tightest setting.

If needed I will post a video to show just ask if that would help someone better solve the problem.

THANKS!

I had two of these in the past and they would do the same thing as yours... Just send it back to daiwa, its a flaw in the design.

I had the same problem with the drag on my Megaforce. I wound up selling it after less than 6 trips to the lake. I got tired of resetting the drag after every cast.

I'd send it back.

I had this same problem and I retured the reel after a month or so of use.  It is a shame because I really like how the reel looks, love the twitchin bar, and it casts far. I would suggest that you get another reel.

I was able to pick this real up very cheap after my Dicks coupons paid for most of it. My problem with it right now is the reel is the opposite of smooth. I'm shocked at how rough it seems. I didn't feel I needed a silky smooth reel but now I'm wondering if these reels need some lube out of the box or something.
